Today we are celebrating Election Hero Day in recognition of the outstanding work of our local election officials, staff, poll workers, and others who continue to support safe, secure, and accessible elections for all voters.

Americans turned out to vote in record numbers during the 2020 presidential election, a feat which would not have been possible without the dedication and determination of our election workers. As hundreds of cities and municipalities prepare for local elections nationwide, we hope you will join us in thanking family, friends, and colleagues who continue to help ensure our democratic process can continue in these unprecedented times.

Special thanks to Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections, Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections, Manatee County Supervisor Of Elections, and Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections for going ALL IN to helping to make USF a Voter Friendly Campus!

Make sure you are by going to https://ballotpedia.org/ or getting a sample ballot from your local election authority to learn about your options for candidates, constitutional amendments, local referendums, and ballot initiatives.

State and local elections like governor, school board, and city council, along with ballot measures, can shape your life much more directly than federal choices, so make sure you are informed and prepared when it is time to make your voice heard.

Do you know the applicable deadlines and requirements to vote in your state? Do you know what the ID rules are for your selected voting method? If you plan to vote in person, do you know where you designated polling places are located? Find information to help with these decisions and more here: https://www.nass.org/can-I-vote

It's Day two of ! Are you ? Mail-in voting was one of the most popular voting methods during the 2020 elections, so make sure you explore whether you are eligible to vote by mail when you participate in the next election.

Some states have eligibility requirements to vote by mail. You can find more information about absentee voting rules in your state here: https://www.vote.org/absentee-voting-rules/. 👍
