Hola! The past few days we have been in Mallorca, Spain. As most of you know, Mallorca is one of me and my family’s favorite places to visit. We had a little bit of a rough start getting here, due to flight delays. After much needed rest we ventured out to new parts of the island. Here’s a little look into what we’ve seen so far.
Bonne soirée! For the past few days my family and myself have been in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. Here are a few photos of this stop on our annual European summer vacation!
Fresh and fabulous corrective coloring 🥰❤️🤩😎

The many transitions of a corrective color! (I always forget to take the in salon before photo 🙄). We chose to cut off as much of the black tips as possible. Then I used a DDL on all of the Arctic fox color that was left in her hair (the photos don’t show it, but the once red color faded to a peachy salmon color actually fleck all the way to the regrowth area. It was fun watching the ddl process work). I did a pre-toning before going in with highlights, the highlights were all back combed with a combination of fine weaves and chunky weave, working my way up in a V to a triangular pattern. Once the foils were removed, I did a root tap to create depth & soften the highlight line (going one shade deeper and cooler than her natural base. Knowing that once the client washes her hair 1-2 times those highlights at the root will pop more, yet still have a nice soft transition). After the root tap I put the gloss toner on to create a more even tone blonde while creating a nice icy tone! Pro-tip: on ash toners; adding in a small amount of gold to your ash toners will keep the ash tones reflective, and not flat or mucky! This toning combination was 10vv 10t 10p with a very small amount of 10gro ! Look at that shine!
Disclaimer: in the making of this gorgeous head of color; there were no hairs broken/ damaged! Slow and go is my process. As is having used tons of olaplex treatments throughout & K18 during the lightening process!

We went to Hell…. (Thought I left a long time ago…. 🫢), had a sunset boat ride to swim in bioluminescent bay (when we swam in the water, the plankton started illuminating. If you stay still and put your face in the water “snorkeling” your body looks like it’s covered in millions of tiny diamonds! Quite an awesome experience. You can only see this in a few places in the world). On our last day of the Grand Cayman we just lounged, swam, and relaxed. All before jumping on a flight for vacation #2…. Dropped the girl off at her ICDC conference, Brandon and I hit up Disney area
Early wake-up call for swimming with the stingrays!
Morning coffee views, and roaming the island ❤️

Yesterday we had some unexpected guests on our bike ride! It was an awesomely surreal moment we had. Not all monkeys are sweet like these guys were.
Out of the salon….. see you all in March!
Sometimes you just have to go back to the basics with a traditional foiling technique!
3.5 years ago I made one of the biggest leaps in my (then) 19 years of being a stylist (now almost 23 years). I branched out on my own. I chose to be my own boss. Anyone who’s ever made such a move understands what I’m talking about…. It’s the scariest leap of faith in your abilities to survive, make a living at your career, everything is on YOU! At that time I wasn’t sure what my outcome would be. I could thrive, or fall flat on my face. Throw a pandemic into the mix of my first 5 months on my own….Thankfully, I thrived! I’ve taken my business further than I ever expected I would. None of where I am today came easy. Quite honestly it has been some of the hardest, most challenging, stressful, yet immensely rewarding work I’ve ever done throughout my career! Having the most amazing clients who have become family to me is the best part of it all.
When you get to do what you love as a career!
This year I’m open to taking on a few new clients. If you or anyone you know are seeking out a new colorist, seeking natural dimensional looks, send them my way. Space is limited.
I get asked often by friends who are former stylist “how have you stayed doing hair so long?”. I’ll agree, it can be challenging at times working with the public. It causes a LOT of wear and tare on our bodies. Not going to lie! There are days after my 20+ years in the business I contemplate “Am I meant to continue?”, “Am I good enough”…… Then I get messages from clients like this! ❤️ This is why I do, what I do! Not just because I love doing hair, but because I can actually make someone who has their doubts about themselves feel beautiful!!!! This girl is absolutely stunning inside and out ❤️ She’s a 2nd generation client. Which makes my heart happy that this “old school” stylist can make a teenager as happy as I have!
