It’s so important to recognize that so many of the pictures we see on social media are fake, especially ones that appear to be black and white. Is black and white hair impossible? Certainly not! But it’s very hard to achieve and many people’s hair is not able to achieve it. I LOVE blending gray, rather then covering it.
Foiling with highlights and/or lowlights every 8-12 weeks means less salon visits, less chemicals and a much easier grow out. This is not ideal for everyone but for those who don’t mind some grays here and there for an overall blended look LOVE this method. This client was 100% white/gray. We created the illusion of her just being a blonde with strategic foiling and a buttery tone 🧈

You could get away with doing a full once or twice a year and maintain your color in between with mini touch up / toner appointments. Depending on your needs, you can have your dream color but not be married to 4-8 week salon visits. Unless you have grays that bother you, I typically like to recommend going longer not shorter between sessions. Hair Color has changed so much over the decades and low maintenance, easy grow outs are in and here to stay ♥️

How to keep your blonde BRIGHT 🌞 not dull 🙅🏼‍♀️
Do use a hard water filter on your shower head
Don’t overuse purple shampoo
Do turn down the heat on your hot tools
Don’t forget to come in for a toner in between highlight/ lightening visits if you come less then every 8 weeks

When someone comes in with blonde hair that has different levels of lightness, you have to attack each one with a different strength of lightener with Surgical precision. Why? Because if the wrong formula touches the wrong area… BREAKAGE 🤯

TIPS TO AVOID BRASSY BLONDES ⬇️
1. Shower filter and hard water treatments
2. Come back to the salon for toners in between appointments
3. Don’t use products that are not color safe
4. Use a purple (or blue if you have more of a bronde) shampoo or conditioner every couple of weeks

A few things about big transformations in one ☝🏼 appointment
1. It’s not always possible, but when it is, sometimes it’s the better option
2. A transformation is more expensive then a typical highlight or dimensional color appointment but you are also getting a lot more bam 💥
3. Sometimes a giant transformation appointment can go hand in hand with a mini appointment 2-4 weeks later to touch up, perfect and tweak. When making a huge color change, it can be normal to change your mind about certain details or just need to adjust certain areas to make the color perfect
4. These appointments usually aren’t 2 hours or 3 hours… sometimes they can be all day 😱 not everyone can sit for that long and that’s ok!!

I used to think that every single person looks for a super bubbly hairdresser that will have you talking and laughing the whole appointment.

That was quite the misconception. After almost 5 years behind the chair, I can say that I was wrong. Some people look for that in a salon visit while others want to RELAX! And just enjoy doing nothing for a couple of hours. And at times, even the most extroverted, chattiest person needs some time to just sit quietly.

No matter what you’re reason is, if you would like a silent appointment, feel free to ask and know that this is a judgement free zone 🫶🏼
