Our Story...

Founded in 2013 by Laurie Gannon-Lotte, Rigatoni & Robots was a dream in the making for nearly two decades. As the nation’s first enrichment program to offer an award-winning culinary, science, and STEM-tech curriculum blend…Rigatoni & Robots offers an unparalleled opportunity to change the landscape on how we provide STEM-based enrichment for children ages 5-12. From whipping up a decadent cream pie or a hearty lasagna in our commercial-grade kitchen, to building a robot, excavating a replica fossil in our “Paleontology Pit”, or learning to code in our awesome STEM-tech center…Rigatoni & Robots is the place to be for monthly membership classes, summer camps, or an enriching 3-hr date night drop-in. Meet Our Founder

Founded by Laurie Gannon-Lotte, Rigatoni&Robots was a dream in the making for nearly two decades. With Master's degrees in both Education & Science and a former elementary school teacher, Laurie spent 8 years developing GATE science curriculum, and subsequently founded the nation's first summer camp program for kids that offered a unique combination of science, cooking, and sports that operated out of San Diego for nearly 20 years. In 2013, Rigatoni&Robots took that summer camp foundation and brought it to a year-round facility...with the founding location in Bakersfield, California. Created with two visions in mind: to bring a level of hands-on fun, energy, and excitement to STEM-related fields of study that schools traditionally tend to overlook or lack the time and resources to cover, and to offer an enrichment program that filled a void for children who have interests is building, inventing, creating, discovering, and collaborating.

Our Mission:

To positively impact children in our surrounding communities by providing unparalleled science, engineering, and culinary arts enrichment programs for elementary through middle school-age children, to enhance upon learning that is either under-funded or non-existent in school environments today, and to provide entrepreneurial opportunities to women by offering profitable, yet attainable and family-friendly, woman or family-owned business leadership opportunities.
