This is our son, Ryan, singing mass at Saint Bonaventure Church in Huntington Beach. He is the music Director there. So proud of him with all he is dealing with with his baby, Madryn, in the ICU and he still always the professional. He has always sang like an angel.

Facebook gave me a lovely memory from 10 years ago of our son, Ryan, singing in our old home. Ryan starting playing the piano at 3 and we had no idea music would become his life. I made this video one afternoon when, as usual, Ryan was filling the house with beautiful music.

Ryan is now a father of 3 and married to his wonderful wife, Kaelynn. He is the Music Director at Saint Bonaventure Catholic Church and performs all the masses along with about 3 Weddings and 3 funerals a week.

I miss the days when our home was filled with his singing. We have some hilarious memories of wherever we went Ryan would find a piano and start singing. He will probably kill me for this post. 🙂

My favorite crazy memory of Ryan singing was the time we were walking through Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and we stumbled upon the Elton John store. In the center of it was the most glorious giant red grand piano. Ryan, of course, immediately gravitates to it and was just staring at the keys for what seemed like a long time. I think he was a sophomore in High School at the time. The sales person walked up to him and asked him if he played. She told him that ordinarily you were not allowed to touch the piano but she told him the piped in music of Elton John had just broke and there was no music in the store so she asked him to play something. I couldn’t believe it. When he sat down at Elton John’s giant red piano I almost fainted.

Ryan had no sheet music but thank goodness he had one Elton song memorized. What was most funny was that for the next half an hour he played and sang every pop song he had memorized which included a lot of Billy Joel. I thought for sure we would get thrown out for singing Billy in the Elton store.

I remember leaning against the wall and was just in awe of the big crowd that surrounded Ryan as he played on that piano and sang. It was AMAZING. Later when the music turned back on and we left I knew that would be a memory I would never forget. There are so many Ryan and his impromptu singing memories.

If you are ever in Huntington Beach you’ll have to go th mass and hear him sing. He is quite a special gift.

Winter is in full bloom on the farm and we are getting our much needed rain. The Waterfall is in all its full glory. I love winter reading and highly recommend this book: A year at Clove Brook Farm by Christopher Spitzmiller.

The book is not only beautiful but includes so many great topics including plantings for a year round calendar, table decorating, floral arranging, vase selection, seeds and bulbs, on and on. I love this book. I bookmarked SO many pages.

I think my gladiolus think it's Spring. The 82ﾟ temperature in November might be confusing them.

I love picking very fragrant roses from the garden and clipping them right before they die. I place them in silver dishes around the house. They make for a very fragrant and beautiful decoration. When they dry out they are still so beautiful.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Thank you to my cograndmother, Julie, for doing all the cooking.

I would love to say this is my cactus garden, but unfortunately, it is my inspiration cactus garden courtesy of my favorite .

Howard and I were mesmerized by the incredible beauty of their Desert Garden.
If you get a chance to go it is mind expanding. The beauty of it takes you to something out of this world. I have moved it to 2nd most beautiful thing I have seen in my lifetime, second only to Paris. My pictures cannot capture all the sites, plants, textures of the landscape.

I love my staff they are the best in the world!! Tea party to go in the Wine Country. Thanks Arianna, Bree, Dean, Cierra, Autumn and Howard. It was wonderful to serve some amazing women.

Always amazed...

It's our big Harvest Tea event this afternoon. Some special homemade Pea soup is cooking and Pomegranates and Oranges are in the dehydrated to go on our Harvest Wreaths. Lot's of fun this afternoon!

Happy National Daughter Day to my daughter, Autumn Daisy. She is not only a wonderful daughter but an Amazing aunt. She fills our family with love, time, laughter and sass. We all are very grateful for her!!!

What an inspiration raised garden beds . My daughter and I looked at all their different vegetables and herbs. What an incredible selection. Loved how they label them all with sticks. Add building this to the honey do list.

I have been buying Kelp fertilizer for my Rose garden this year and have decided to start making my own.

You may not know but my husband is an avid Paddle boarder; hence, he is surrounded by Kelp on a weekly basis. Certainly picking up some Kelp off the beach couldn't be adding too much to his plate :)

The ingredients for Kelp fertilizer are simple...Kelp. I'll let you know how it goes so don't be surprised if you visit the farm and see Kelp drying out on a line.

It's a purple day. How amazing are the many colors in nature?

I am looking for someone to organize my large closet. I need someone who is very meticulous and can create a systematic solution that is visually appealing.

Apparently people are not the only ones who enjoy a good view.

The Succulents have decided to Bloom. Amazing...

One of my favorite pieces of art at the Manor. This oil on canvas is by Otto Bierhals from the Woodstock school of New York. It was painted sometime between 1890 - 1944 with a knife and the technique of applying thick amounts of paint. The detailing of the figurines is amazing.
