Enrollment for 2021-22 school year begins at Temecula Chinese School.

Temecula Chinese School is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-political, non-religious public charity educational organization founded in 2017. Our purpose is to teach listening, speaking, reading and writing skills with simplified Chinese characters. Our goal is to help improve student’s Chinese language skills and to promote Chinese culture. We currently offer over 10 different levels of Chinese classes and have a total of almost 100 students.

1. Regular Chinese Classes: Level 1 to 10

Enrollment Requirement: Student age six and older with a basic proficiency in Chinese Mandarin speaking and listening will be divided into classes according to their proficiency level.

Textbook: "MeiZhou Chinese", "Pinyin" and other auxiliary teaching materials.

Curriculum:
The lessons studied are humorous and interesting, covering history, humanities, science, society, folk festivals and daily life, etc., and comprehensively improve students' Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The intermediate and high-level content is based on the knowledge level and student life experience of various subjects taught by schools in the Americas. Student’s vocabulary could reach more than 5,000 after finishing ten textbooks (approximately 60 class hours per book).

Class time:
Sunday Class: In-person or online class (using ZOOM and Google Classroom system).
*The specific class model is determined according to the distance, age and personal wishes of the students.
This term starts from 8/22/2021 to 5/15/2022, 1:00-2:50pm or 3:00-4:50pm each Sunday (except holidays), a total of 30 weeks and 60 class hours. * Please refer to the school calendar for specific class dates.)

Weekday Class: Online Class (using ZOOM and Google Classroom system).
Class could start at any time, twice a week, 50 minutes each class, 60 classes per term. *The specific class time is determined according to the students' situation.

Tuition: $600 per term (excluding textbook fees), and a discount of $50 for Sunday classes will be applied if paid in full before May 16, 2021.


2. Bilingual Chinese Classes:

A. Junior Bilingual Class (Ages 6-8)

Enrollment Requirement: 6-8 years old, who do not know any Chinese Mandarin

Textbook: "Easy Steps to Chinese for kids"

Teaching Curriculum:
Cultivates students' interest in learning Chinese with simple sentences, dialogues, beautiful songs and other forms of life, so that they can easily lay a good foundation in Chinese, master such cultural points as numbers, basic strokes of Chinese characters, family members, daily language, the most common festivals, calligraphy, Peking Opera and so on. Student’s vocabulary could reach about 600 words and 60 Chinese songs after completing 4 textbooks.

B. Youth Bilingual Class (Ages 9-11)

Enrollment Requirement: 9-11 years old, who do not know any Chinese Mandarin

Textbook: "Easy Steps to Chinese"

Teaching Curriculum:
The content covers topics such as family members, daily life, time, color, dress, weather, hobbies, transportation, three meals a day, etc., so that students can accurately and fluently use Chinese in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in all aspects of daily life. Student’s vocabulary could reach to about 1600-2400 words after completing eight textbooks (about 60-70 class hours per book).

C. Teen Bilingual Class (Ages 12-18)

Enrollment Requirement: 12-18 years old, who do not know any Chinese Mandarin

Textbook: "Learn to Write and Speak"

Teaching Curriculum:
The curriculum covers topics on daily life, lively and interesting dialogue, strong practicality, from the shallow to the deep, and pays great attention to training the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Student’s vocabulary could reach to about 800 words after completing set of textbooks (about 100-120 class hours per book).

Class Time:
Sunday Class: In-Person Class or Online Class (using ZOOM and Google Classroom system).
*The specific class model is determined according to the distance, age and personal wishes of the students.
This term starts from 8/22/2021 to 5/15/2022, every Sunday afternoon 1:00-2:50 or 3:00-4:50, a total of 30 weeks and 60 class hours. *Please refer to the school calendar for specific class dates.
