We are less than a week away to our annual horse costume parade followed by 'stall of treat' this Saturday Oct 22 from 4-6pm! The Fitzgerald Foundation will also be kicking off with T-shirts, sweets, and you might just win a prize when you donate! Questions about the event can be answered by Deb, Suz, or Alli. The Fitzgerald Foundation has been created to promote the mental, spiritual, and physical well-being of people of all ages and walks of life through direct interactions with horses. Our guiding principles of love, community, and kindness are based on the close, unique, and enduring connections between humans and horses. Based on these principles, we will facilitate personal growth, healing, and learning through hands-on guided interactions, individualized to match each participant’s needs and capabilities.

Welcome everyone!

Starting a nonprofit program has been a goal of mine for many years. I have a passion to serve others and for horses and I want to share that passion with other people. Horses bring so much to our lives including love, kindness, and healing. Additionally, many of my own personal qualities and attributes I have developed through the years, such as responsibility, patience, and love, I accredit to the horses.

The goal of the Fitzgerald Foundation is to provide equine therapy to all individuals regardless of age, mental, or physical disabilities. The equine therapy would include horse care (grooming, feeding, stall cleaning), ground work (leading, halting, tricks) and riding (steering, halting, walking, possibly trotting). Participating in these activities will provide opportunities for participants to gain knowledge, understanding, and a feeling of responsibility and fulfillment. These tasks and duties will work in conjunction with the connection that comes with caring for another being; a horse.
