Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corps

Shortly after 11:00 PM, two ambulances were requested to standby at a working fire in Tenafly. TVAC Sunday Night Duty Crew responded first to the scene in Ambulance 41 and 4 additional members staffed Ambulance 42. Thank you to our members who respond to all emergencies, regardless of the day or time. TVAC is proud to be fully staffed by volunteers in order to provide free medical treatment and transport, as well as be on standby free of charge 🚑🔥

The Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance remembers and honors all those who lost their lives following the horrific acts that took place on September 11th, 2001. We will never forget the tragedy of 9/11/01 and the unity of 9/12/01 🇺🇸

Community Night 2024! TVAC members tabled outside of our station at tonight’s Community Night handing out coloring books and EMT badges for kids, as well as information on how to begin volunteering with the Tenafly Ambulance, reusable ice packs, and Narcan Kits along with information on opioid overdoses. Our members also were providing CPR demonstrations and tours of our ambulance for people of all ages! We had a great time and we hope you did too!! Thank you to the Tenafly Recreation Department, Tenafly Police, Tenafly DPW, and everyone who made tonight possible. We cannot wait for next year!

August was a BUSY month with our highest monthly call count this year. Summer plans, vacations, and back to school for our college members, did not stop our department from providing the best emergency medical services to the Borough of Tenafly! 🚑☀️

Today is back to school for Tenafly Public Schools and some of our members! Did you know that you can be 15 years old to start volunteering with the Tenafly Ambulance as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and 16 years old to start volunteering as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)? Our department has a number of high school students who are certified EMRs and EMTs and who are dedicated to serving their community! Happy Labor Day from the Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance! In order to ensure the safety of all Tenafly this Labor Day, TVAC staffed crews for 4 Holiday Shifts from 6:00 AM on 9/2 to 6:00 AM on 9/3. We hope you have a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend! 🚑🇺🇸

TVAC members stood on standby and in solidarity with members of the Tenafly and surrounding communities at tonight’s vigil to mourn the loss of 6 Israeli hostages 🚑💙

Today, beginning at 9:17 AM, TVAC was dispatched for 5 ambulance calls throughout the Borough of Tenafly over a 4 hour span. TVAC members staffed each of the emergencies with an average response time of 6 minutes 🚑🔥🚨

The Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corps is saddened to hear of the passing of Paul Cantwell, retired Tenafly Police Lieutenant. Paul Cantwell or “Canty” served the Tenafly community for over 30 years as a member of the Tenafly Police Department and Tenafly Volunteer Fire Department, as well as helping to found the Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family, friends, and the Tenafly community.

TVAC members went mini golfing today as a department bonding event! We had so much fun and even a had a hole in one by Junior Member Daniella Mor 🚑⛳️

Today, TVAC members had the ability to partake in the Kaplan JCC’s Neil Klatskin Summer Camp’s Hometown Hero Parade! The campers greeted our members with signs of appreciation and then got to take a tour inside of our ambulance. What an incredible day! 🚑☀️

June Call Stats 🔥

TVAC Ambulance 42 was on standby for a 2nd alarm fire in a Tenafly residence yesterday morning alongside , , and fire departments from various surrounding towns. EMS Command was established by Captain Pedoto in TVAC Responder 43. TVAC Ambulance 41 responded to two ambulance calls throughout the Borough during the standby. We are so thankful to all of our members for their work and our collaboration with the Tenafly Police and Fire Departments! 🚓🚑🚒

Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corps at the Tenafly 4th of July Fireworks! EMS Command was established at the Davenport Lot and oversaw six crews: Ambulance 41 and 42, one - designated for all town calls and another designated for the event, off-roading ASAP and Gator vehicles on the Tenafly High School field, and two walking crews that oversaw a cooling station. TVAC is proud to serve and celebrate the Fourth of July with the Borough of Tenafly 🚑🇺🇸

June 19th, or Juneteenth, is a day to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States in 1865. The Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance acknowledges the importance of this day, as well as freedom, liberation, and equality throughout our country and our world 💙🚑❤️

Today, the Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance partnered with , the Tenafly Office of Emergency Management, and the Tenafly Senior Center to host a Blood Drive. We had 10 donors donate 12 units of blood! We are so thankful for our Tenafly Community for coming out and supporting a great cause 🚑🩸

This evening, members of the Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance were on standby for the Tenafly Middle School 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony. Congratulations to all the graduates and their families 🐯🎓

Today, members of the Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance worked alongside Tenafly Police, Tenafly Fire Department, Brightview Staff, and Brightview residents to conduct an annual evacuation drill.
