Celebrating National Bourbon Heritage Month, here’s 3 fun facts about these American drink that we all love 🥃👇🏻

🥃 Bourbon barrels must be used once and aged in new, charred oak barrels, discarded after aging. Used barrels are sold to other alcohol producers, contributing to bourbon barrel-aged craft beers.

🥃 Bourbon has no minimum aging requirement, but properly distilled corn whiskey can be considered bourbon if it touches the barrel for a few seconds before bottling, but aged for less than four years must be labeled.

🥃 During Prohibition, bourbon was legally allowed with a doctor's note, despite the US government's strict stance on alcohol consumption. This exception helped keep Kentucky distilleries afloat during the 13-year Prohibition period.
