When women order abortion pills online, the pills are sent through the mail with no medical oversight, and an ultrasound is not provided to confirm gestational age. Many pregnant women do not accurately estimate their gestational age, and chemical abortion complications increase as pregnancy advances.Abortion pills cannot treat an ectopic pregnancy and can mask the symptoms of tubal rupture, putting women at risk of severe bleeding and death. Only an ultrasound can rule out an ectopic pregnancy. Abortion pills can cause long-term damage and side effects, emotionally and physically.
