Have you seen the new MATES media booth? Mr. LaGuardia's Friday Focus class is a tech club. The students learn how to use the sound and lighting equipment, and work the booth for our class plays. Thank you to the Smidt Family Foundation for their generous donation to make this media booth possible.
First graders have started their Africa unit! We started with a plane ride to Tanzania. Students made passports and tickets to board the 22 hour plane ride. We had inflight entertainment and even time to take a nap on the long flight.
After landing, we got to go on our first Safari in the Serengeti! We used binoculars and searched for animals.
So many Friday Focus options -- Art, Card Games, Tech Club, Typing Games, Tap Dance, Directed Draw, Relaxation Station, Rock Painting, 3-D Printing, Stained Glass Art, STEM, Messy Science, or Pickleball. FRIYAY!
Kindergarten students in Room 3 started their unit on community and started with a map of their classroom, then a map of MATES. They wrote in their journals about our MATES community helpers, too. They walked around the school with their maps afterward!
Congratulations to all of our third grade students for portraying a famous person in the Wax Museum!
The first grade classes transformed their classrooms into pizzerias for a day of fully integrated learning.
