Join us for “A Death on Campus,” and be the first to figure out who killed Derek Terr, a famous film director whose return to Tifton shakes up all those who knew him before he hit it big in Hollywood.
Was it his estranged and angry daughter? Or perhaps a local photographer who suspects Derek of a crime from long ago?
Using your expert sleuthing skills, you will review the scene of the crime, clues, and question the suspects to figure out who killed this famous director.

Check out this story with insightful comments provided by ABAC’s Dr. Ryan Voris!
Georgia deemed a battleground state now that new candidates are in the presidential race Political professor Ryan Voris says now that vice president Harris is running for president, there's been an emergence of enthusiasm from more diverse groups and engagement from younger voters.
A great first day to be at ABAC!
A beautiful day for the start of classes. Welcome back ABAC students!
Happy to welcome the Class of 2028!
ABAC Bainbridge students are now able to complete the first two years of B.S. degrees in Biology, History & Government, Rural Community Development, and Writing & Communication in Bainbridge before transferring seamlessly to Tifton for the second two years. Students can work with a faculty advisor in their discipline while still saving cash by living at home in Bainbridge for the first two years of college. Moving to ABAC Tifton for the second two years ensures that students keep all earned credits.
Five interns from ABAC’s Writing and Communication program are helping to create the installation of which Polly Huff (museum director) speaks in her announcement below. The videography, interviewing, editing, and writing skills these students acquired in our English and Communication classes are the foundation of this fantastic project.
Huff writes:
In Season 1 of ABAC’s award-winning multimedia project, "Listen to the Land," one of the farmers we featured, Heather Brasell, shared a beloved quote: "In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught." (Baba Dioum, 1968.)
ABAC’s “Listen to the Land 2: Food Cultures” launched in the spring semester of 2024 as a collaboration between ABAC’s School of Arts & Sciences and the GMA Art Gallery. The project looked at unexpected food cultures found in South Georgia and what drives the people who observe [them]: American Trapper, Gujarati, Jamaican, Southern Soul, Afghan Turkmen, Slovak, and Native American food cultures, [all of which] are represented in this multimedia exhibition.
Our experience over the last eight months was [in] preparing the food of [these] native lands for friends, family, and total strangers [which] ultimately spoke the universal language of understanding [and] hospitality, translating [in] the end to love.
Please mark your calendars to join in this celebration of culture and food at the GMA on Sept. 7th at 6:30 pm, and to celebrate the talented students from the Writing and Communication program who made this installation possible.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fiesta del Pueblo Committee Awards 2024 Maria Guadalupe Cervantes Memorial Scholarship
TIFTON, GA — The Fiesta del Pueblo committee proudly announces that OSCAR MARTINEZ HERNANDEZ of Pearson, Georgia, has been awarded the 2024 Maria Guadalupe Cervantes Memorial Scholarship.
Oscar is the son of the late Roberto Martinez Leal and Lucila Hernandez Trejo, and he has an older brother called Lucio Martinez. Currently in his third year at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Education. Oscar plans to open his own agricultural business after graduation.
Oscar graduated from Atkinson County High School in May 2022. As the first in his family to attend college and graduate with a four-year degree, he credits the support of his family and the guidance of his high school teachers for making his dream a reality. Recently, he completed an internship at Congressman Austin Scott's office in Washington D.C., an experience he found profoundly memorable.
Throughout his time at ABAC, Oscar has demonstrated leadership and community involvement. He has served as an Ambassador, Senator for the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and an Orientation Leader during the summer of 2023. He is an active member of several clubs, including MANRRS, Cultura Latinx Club (CLC), Collegiate FFA (CFFA), and the Education Club.
Oscar's commitment to community service is evident through his work with the ABAC Upward Bound program, where he assisted with the Emory Farmworker Project in the Bainbridge area. Additionally, he serves as a volunteer firefighter for his county.
