Why are we different from other student pharmacy organizations? APhA-ASP believes that a student pharmacist is more than a college student, they are a professional. We provide the tools to help students grow not only academically, but also professionally. Through patient care projects, leadership opportunities, and other regional and national events we help make students better interns, and prepar

Hi everyone! Every year each chapter of APhA submits a pharmacy policy change that they would like to see implemented. The policy changes are presented at MRM and voted upon. The chosen policy will then go through the process to hopefully become a law. This is a great opportunity to express your opinion on any policies or laws in pharmacy that you believe inhibit patient care or that you disagree with and would like to see changed. Please take the time to fill out the form below. We will be collecting all of these ideas, picking the top 3, and then voting on our favorite at the Policy Ice Cream Sundae Event on 9/26 at 12:00pm.
Here's the form: https://forms.gle/XrnHvZZJp1eNitdR8

Afterwards we will have the Cleveland Clinic Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residents talking about their career path. I would be very happy if you guys could all join and make them feel welcome. Our final spotlight member is Nick Ridenour, this year's UT APhA Pre-Professional Liason! Nick is a P1 this fall.
Nick loves helping fellow peers and younger students with all school-related questions! Being in this position is exciting so he is able to be someone that the PP1's and PP2's can reach out to and hopefully bring in to join APhA-ASP!
Something fun about Nick is that he is a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo and has practiced for 12 years! He also loves weightlifting and playing guitar in his (little) free time.

As we head into the first day of school tomorrow, we will also be wrapping up our summer spotlights! My name is Michelle Wilfong and I am this year's UT APhA Social Media Director. I will be a P3 this year.
I became interested in this position after being a general member and feeling like the use of our social media pages could be better utilized to engage members and keep them informed of our events. I never realized how much MORE important this would become given the COVID-19 pandemic that arose shortly after we took our positions.
I currently work as a pharmacy intern in a hospital setting at Wood County Hospital as well as in an independent retail setting at Little Pharmacy. This year, I will also be teaching assistant (TA) for the PSD 3 and 4 labs.
I would like to thank everyone for working with me over the summer and making these spotlights possible! I look forward to keeping everyone updated on our APhA news and events!
Tonight’s spotlight is Morgan Hama, this year’s UT APhA OTC Safety Chair! She will be a P3 this fall.
Today’s spotlight is Carli Hartman, one of this year’s UT APhA Fundraising Co-Chairs! Carli will be a P2 this fall and is excited to become more involved this year!
Today's spotlight is Lindsay Ludwick, this year's UT APhA P1 Liason! Lindsay will be starting her P1 year this fall.
Lindsay has been in Pre-Professional Organization (PPO) for her first two years at UT and wanted to join more organizations for her professional years. She had heard about APhA before, and once she got more information she really wanted to join and meet new members in the field of pharmacy. As for the P1 Liason role, she thought it would be interesting to let other classmates know about APhA and to be a part of an amazing organization!
Lindsay was the President of PPO last year and is currently the President-Elect/Director of Programming for the Residence Halls Association. She is also an RA for the Exploratory Studies Floor at Parks Tower. She will be entering her P1 year for Pharmacy Administration!
This year's UT APhA Communications Vice President is Heather Young! She will be starting her P3 year this fall.
This is Heather's second year in this position and she is eager to improve her performance and continue to represent APhA as a member of the executive board. She is also eager to ride to the challenges that this semester may bring due to continue COVID-19 regulations and mostly remote interactions within the organization.
Heather is currently also the President of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) at UT and is looking forward ot potential collaborative efforts with the two groups!
Fun fact: Heather has a cat named Zofran.
Tonight's spotlight is Brooke Pawlicki, one of this year's UT APhA Operation Heart/Diabetes Co-Chairs! She will be starting her P3 year this fall.
This position gives Brooke the opportunity to be more involved in APhA, as well as connect with other students and serve the community. She has always been interested in learning about diabetes and hypertension because some of her close family members are affected by them. She is excited to develop new ideas for this position and work with the other patient care chairs on projects this year!
One of Brooke's favorite memories is the Staff vs. Students basketball game. When Brooke isn't working she enjoys golfing, drawing, and traveling!
Tonight's spotlight member is Madeline Simpson, one of this year's UT APhA Operation HIV Co-Chairs! Madeline will be starting her P3 year this fall.
Madeline is excited to develop new ideas dealing with HIV awareness for this upcoming school year. She is also excited to work with the other patient care chairs on projects and ideas they may have.
Last year Madeline was a member of the service committee for APhA. This year, she is looking forward to being involved in a different area of APhA and exploring more opportunities for community involvement. She enjoyed participating in past APhA events such as the health screenings and the staff vs. student basketball fundraiser. She has found the opportunity to interact with the community and share information on important health issues to be very rewarding!
