Meet Katie!

Why I Practice: I fell in love with Foot Zoning after struggling with years of anxiety/panic attacks and then battling Postpartum Depression after my first child was born. I had tried many things to help, with little success. I walked into my first Foot Zone appointment feeling lost, anxious, tense, and full of bottled up emotions that were taking a toll on my mind and body. When I walked out of the appointment, I felt lighter, I had mental clarity, and I felt like I’d released a huge weight off my shoulders. Most of all though, I felt empowered.

Why I Teach: As a result of having regular Foot Zone Therapy, I began experiencing amazing benefits and positive changes in my life physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I felt compelled to start a new journey. I wanted to combine my passion for helping people and my fascination with the human body to support others on their own journey to heal and restore themselves.

Qualifications: I became a Certified Foot Zone Practitioner through We Do Feet Seminars in 2020. I have training in the use of essential oils, muscle testing, and energy work. I have also gained extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology through continuing education over the past 12 years, as well as hands on experience working as a Master Esthetician for the past 9 years.

So grateful for all who came to the special event Soundbath/meditation with Qigong master Dr David Hone!

I always learn so much from him. Qigong changed my life and expanded my mind.

We’ll be looking forward to more collaborations with Dr David and others as we shift online and for special events.

I’m sitting in the sun, the smell and smoke of sage in the air.

I can no longer see the flicker of the single candle I lit. The sun drenches my corner of the couch and sinks into my chest as I sit here by the window staring up at the mountain.

I am surrounded by the effects of my attempts at self care. The sandwich I made for myself even though it seemed silly to boil eggs just for one. The chocolate next to me, waiting for it’s turn where I plan to practice indulgence. The book on the arm of the sofa wondering if today is the day I allow myself to just sit, read, eat, be.

The stage is set yet I can’t help but wonder, ‘am I “doing” this “being” thing right?!’.

This healing journey is not one thing, for everyone. We are all unique. What is a struggle for me may not be for you and Vice verse.

One thing I know for sure, or at least I tell myself, is that there is purpose in it all. In the clunky start, the backslide, the recommitting, the learning. Always the learning.

I am unlearning old patterns and striving to transition into new. This is a process, clunky starts and all. And it is worth doing. Maybe the only thing that is.

This learning to be with ourselves in every emotion and experience is a new skill for many of us. Most of us didn’t have this example. We’re carving our way. Setting new paths and coming home to ourselves.

I’m there too. Keep going, I’m cheering you on from here and I raise my chocolate bar to you. I whisper “you are not alone” when it feels too much and you do the same for me and others.

Let’s create pockets of safety everywhere we go for ourselves and others but always starting with ourselves.

I’m in a season of shedding all that isn’t me and no longer serves. Looking down at all that falls away and honoring what has been but can no longer be. Just like the fall trees are modeling for me.

We are shifting online! For months I’ve been wondering if I should turn left or right. Looking at every possible solution for the health issues I’ve been experiencing. In the end the only turn that makes sense is the one I’ve been avoiding. Turning around and going home to heal.

We opened healing center two years ago with the specific intention to create community and connection while on the healing path. We’ve had so many beautiful and transformational experiences here through our classes, workshops, sessions and events. We are so grateful for all who have joined us in creating a safe place to heal!

We are not going away but only shifting to an online platform where we can reach even more with the message of hope and healing after trauma. We’ve always known that coming to the center would be a barrier for some. Now we can bring along all who wish to come and expand beyond our four walls. All while doing our own work to heal.

This decision has not been made lightly and has only come after exhausting every other avenue we could see. Still, sometimes life shifts us in directions we would not normally have chosen for ourselves. I have a feeling many of you can relate.

What does this mean for you? We will still be here through September and would love to see all of you! We’ll also have huge sales in our shop moving inventory and giving great deals every Saturday from 11-4 pm through the 23rd.

Starting October we’ll shift online and still offer somatic sessions, neurofeedback (location tbd), adding digital courses, online trainings and workshops, and events as we go. So much in coming in to and add to all that we can offer in the trauma healing space.

We’ll still be doing our free 20 min discovery calls as well so if you are looking for a resource and need to map out next steps, we got you. We can also point you in the direction of those here locally that can still meet in person if that’s what’s needed. Healing is not one thing!
