Devin Rose, a Utah resident, has found a unique way to use his love for technology to help schools and sports teams. His business, D&C Drones Agricultural Drone Services, involves using a large drone to dump a special kind of dirt on sports fields at schools to help melt snow faster.

The idea for his business came after seeing a news story about high school spring sports games being postponed or canceled due to heavy snow still on fields. His business is still new, but he says he's learning the best way to fly and make lines of dirt on fields to make the snow melt faster. Click the link below for the full story:

Congrats Utah State University! The launch of the Atmospheric Waves Experiment (AWE), led by USU's Space Dynamics Laboratory and College of Science, is scheduled for December 2023. AWE, a NASA-funded project, will study how Earth's weather interacts with space weather by providing unprecedented images of Earth's gravity waves from an orbit of about 400 kilometers above. The project will help forecast the effect of atmospheric gravity waves and space weather on satellite communications and enable mission planners and satellite operators to plan contingencies. This is a major milestone for USU as it represents the first time the university has served as a total mission provider for a major NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration program.
