You've no doubt heard of the 7 Deadly Sins before...but let's take a look at the 7 Deadly Sins of BUSINESS. Yes, they exist!
PRIDE - It is important to be prideful of your business--you should be! HOWEVER, becoming overly confident can take your focus away from your business. Practice humility and your business will flourish!
ENVY - It is a great idea to monitor your competition to learn from them. HOWEVER, you should never become envious as that detracts you from your business and your own unique, personal brand.
GLUTTONY - We all want as much money as possible, yes. HOWEVER, be careful to not garner this money at the expense or harm of others. Keep your ethics in tune!
LUST - Along with envy, watch out for mirroring your business plan to that of another's. Build your own brand that is different from the competitors...even if they are similar!
ANGER - Being a business owner can be difficult. Do your best to not let your anger take over as that negatively impacts your business. Practice mindfulness and patience as things can change in an instant--be flexible!
GREED - This is self-explanatory. Success drives the motivation for more success. HOWEVER, if the only thing you are watching is money-intake, the rest of your business may suffer.
SLOTH - Keep your appearances in order. This applies to both you personally, professional and your surroundings. Even if you have a home office, keep it tidy. No one wants to work with a professional who does not come off as a professional. Have a meeting and work from a home office? Schedule it at a coffeeshop or local bookstore instead.
And there you have it! AVOID the 7 Deadly Sins in Business!
As we all head back into our offices (and some of us staying in our home offices!), we are surrounded by what was once familiar. In my office, both in my home and professional, I boast pictures of my beautiful family, a laptop that is always on and of course, my jets collectors' items!
What do YOU have in your office? Tell me what surrounds you when you work!
Let's play a game: WOULD YOU RATHER!
Now that summer is in full swing, we must remember to enjoy it when we can. Yes, we are all busy as life resumes and normalcy (kind of) returns but we cannot forget about our downtime and leisure time!
Would you rather spend a day at the beach or a day in nature? Tell me in the comments below!
Shout out to my fit fam out there! We are ALWAYS a work in progress. But do not limit yourselves to the belief that it is just our bodies and minds that are works are in progress... Our BUSINESSES are too!
Whether you are an employee or a business owner, being a work in progress leaves room for improvement. No one knows it all (not even me if you can believe it! 😆). Therefore, do your best to keep your mindset on the fact that you are always a work in progress, and allow yourself the ability to learn new things and strengthen your craft.
Anyone else enjoy being a work in progress?
What a great way to start off a Monday morning! Reviews like this both humble me and remind me why I do what I do. The answer? I love the law and helping people benefit from it!
I pride myself in my ability to stay personable, even when regarding complex sometimes not-so-exciting topics...like contracts! However, contracts ARE exciting as they are what protect you in the long run.
I am thankful for all of your support and wonderful reviews. I am happy to announce the majority of my clients are repeat clients and referral-based. That is a great thing.
Have a great week everyone!
Happy Tuesday everyone! I've decided to share 3 top secret tips on how to get new clients! The world is beginning to open up again and it is time to do the big push to get our businesses up and running again...and that means, NEW CLIENTS!
Here are the top 3 ways to get new clients:
💰 ASK FOR REFERRALS - Utilize the clients you already have! Your clients have friends and family who may be of need of your services. Who else would they trust besides their own loved ones? Get those referrals!
💰 NETWORK - Good old-fashioned networking is now back and in-person! Hitting the ground running begins with putting yourself and your products/services out there.
💰 OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR NEW CUSTOMERS - Incentivizing is a GREAT way to get new customers. When people see "discount", it triggers an interest.
And there you have it! 3 tried and true, proven ways to get new customers. Let's get back to growing our businesses...together. I am here if you need any help!
Happy Friday everyone! Today's lesson is to focus on being PRODUCTIVE versus BUSY. Do you know the difference? Let's discuss!
To be busy is to jam-pack everything you think you need to do in your day; thus, leaving you exhausted. And if you are exhausted, are you really getting your business done the way it needs to be? Are you cutting corners?
Now...PRODUCTIVITY is maximizing your efficiency based on selecting your priorities and executing them with intention and diligence. See the difference? Choose the most important things in your day and stay in the moment as you complete your tasks. Each thing require your full attention and time.
Trust me, being productive yields far greater results and a job well done versus "at least I got everything done"...and it being done with half-effort due to exhaustion.
Let's all practice being PRODUCTIVE versus BUSY!
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I decided to share some helpful tips that not only help in your BUSINESS, but can also be applied to your LIFE.
It is so important to do our best to stay flexible, positive and resilient in this uncertain time. As the world is opening up once more, many people still feel nervous. These are great tips to keep things in perspective and you in a healthy mental state of well being.
As the greats have always said: If you do not have your health, you have nothing. Do you practice good self-care? Share your methods in the comments below!
Hi guys! It's me, Zoe! Here at the Law Firm of Richard W. Greenbaum, we greet you with a smile. And yes, I almost have all of my teeth, so now it's even more special! Grandpa Richard welcomes all his new clients with the warmest of salutations...and I'm here too!
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to life resuming back to (somewhat) normal where we can all see each other's beautiful smiling faces once more. We look forward to serving you!
Leave me a 💛 to say hello back!
Good Monday morning! I decided to start this week off by sharing my PROVEN tips with you.
If you are a business owner, there are 3 rules you must NEVER break. Here they are:
🗂️ NEVER be late. Yes, life happens, but being late makes you appear unprofessional and unorganized. Not a great way to start off conducting business with someone.
🗂️ NEVER make excuses. If you are late, be HONEST as to why. Do not use shallow excuses like "There was traffic." Your credibility may be questioned.
🗂️ NEVER be unprepared. You may think that "winging it" is a strong suit of yours; however, customers can be savvy. If you are caught off-guard, it may appear you are unprepared to conduct business.
It's TRUE FALSE time! I deal with many people on a daily basis...and MANY of those people say they know the law inside and out. So let's test that theory.
I have designed this TRUE FALSE mini-quiz to see just how much law you know. These are general questions; however, they can be very tricky!
Let's see what you've got! True...or false?
Okay everyone. For this Thursday morning activity, I'd love to know what your favorite lawyer-based movie is! There are hundreds...so I can't wait to see which one is your favorite!
Mine is in the comments!
I would love to pay homage to my beloved university where I acquired everything I needed to get to where I am today. I am a proud Pepperdine Alumna and will always be.
I pride myself in being a fair and honorable lawyer. I am aware this is an oxymoron but those who attend Pepperdine seem to have this in common.
Are you an Alumna? Where?
Good Monday morning, everyone! It's me, Zoe! This episode comes straight to you from The Zoe Files (it's a new gig of mine...do you like the name?)
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend and got to see their families and friends (safely, of course!). I had a wonderful time and got to wear a beautiful new dress.
But after the fun, it's time to work...for YOU! I want you all to know that Grandpa and I are back at it, working our bunny tails off for you and your businesses. That's what we're good at!
Now, I'm off to find a phone book to sit on so I can see my screen. Do they still make phone books? Grandpa told me about them and I could really use one right now...
Have a great week!
