What a day! Started out networking with Pipeline BNI - Redondo Beach. Then, 5 cases in 3 courtrooms at 2 courthouses:

(1) Got a stay of a driver license suspension while we fight out a Petition for Writ of Mandate (suing the DMV to overturn a license suspension);
(2) Set another Writ of Mandate case for trial;
(3) Got a Mental Health Diversion terminated early for a great DV client - CASE DISMISSED!;
(4) progress report on a Veterans Diversion in a DUI case; and
(5) a pre-trial conference on a complicated multiple-DUI situation.

Plus, we received a Notice of Set Aside on a tough DUI chemical test refusal case (that means we won the DMV hearing!).

We also had a gun law article published in the Daily Journal today, about the recent Supreme Court decision in Rahimi.

Oh, and tonight, I get to speak at the Gardena Valley Lions Club!

Another day, another DMV Refusal case win! Saved the client's driver license from a year hard suspension with no restricted options. I really thought I was going to have to file a Petition for Writ of Mandate (sue the DMV) on this one, but the hearing officer did the right thing.

Conviction vacated and case dismissed! Client clear to get green card. After he took a plea deal in 2010, his mom told him that he's not a citizen! He's been in the US since he was 4 years old and never knew. We're glad to help him right this situation.

Case dismissed! It was worth the short flight to Victorville this morning to get a case dismissed for a worthy client and military veteran. And I helped out a colleague with their case while I was there.
