Baltimore County Councilman Mike Ertel
Proud to represent the 6th District, from Middle River to Towson, on the Baltimore County Council. Please reach out to me if I can be of any help to you!
I grew up in the Hamilton area of Northeast Baltimore and attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (Poly) and Towson University. After living for a time in Bowleys Quarters, I moved to Towson in 1995, where my wife and I have raised our three children, all of whom attended Baltimore County Public Schools. I have been a community advocate for more than 20 years, working with now-Delegate Cathi Forb
I attended the TABCO (Teacher's Association of Baltimore County) legislative breakfast this morning with my council and legislative colleagues. Our BCPS Superintendent Dr. Myriam Rogers was there with us. I had some good conversations with a few of our teachers who do so much for our Baltimore County students.

Live Christmas tree collection for recycling in Baltimore County will take place over a two-week period, beginning Monday, January 8, 2024. Residents must place trees out by January 13 to ensure collection.
Pickup dates vary by location and may not occur on your scheduled trash or recycling day.
Residents should place trees out for pick-up at the same location where they would normally place trash and recycling for collection.
• Only set out live (not artificial) trees.
• Set out the tree only (no lights, decorations, tinsel, bags, tree stands, etc.).
Residents can also drop off their Christmas Trees themselves at any one of the County’s three drop-off locations.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!!! #2024

It was great to reconnect with community, County, and business leaders at the Towson Communities Alliance holiday party this evening! I got my start in community advocacy with the TCA more than 20 years ago, advocating for schools, public safety, recreation fields, and many other community needs. It was great to see Delegate Cathi Forbes, Julian Jones for Baltimore County, Baltimore County Councilman Izzy Patoka, District 2, State's Attorney Scott Shellenberger, Fire Chief Joanne R Rund, Johns (Chief of Staff for Delegate Michele Guyton, MD District 42B), Green Towson Alliance representative Beth Bone Miller, TCA President Henry Callegary, Carmen Christiana from Executive Johnny Olszewski's office, Christina Kelley with the Towson Chamber of Commerce, and many community representatives. Thanks to Melony Merson Wagner, Wagner, and Tracey Marcantoni at Charles Village Pub & Patio Towson for hosting a great event! Happy holidays everyone!
A big thank you goes out to local artist Naomi O'Connell for putting the finishing touches on the Historic East Towson sign just in time for the holidays. We’d also like to thank the alliance of local Towson businesses that joined The Knollwood Association to fund the effort:
