Initiative: Bright Futures: Enhancing Theatre Experience with New Projection Technology

Education Finalist:
Northwestern Michigan College Foundation
Initiative: Bringing 3D Printing Homes to NMC and our Community

Environment, Recreation & Preservation Finalist:
Thompsonville Area Revitalization Project (TARP)
Initiative: Thompsonville Junction Trailhead Project

Family Finalist:
Friendship Community Center
Initiative: Leelanau Investing For Teens (LIFT)

These local organizations were chosen after a detailed assessment of their initiatives’ transformational impact, sustainability, and financial viability. They are selected from a field of quality applicants, and this honor tells our community that they are doing great things and are worthy of funding!

Because of our incredible members and their generosity, this year, THREE of our four finalists will receive grants of $116,000 each and our cumulative total for grants awarded at the end of the year will reach over 2.4 million. Members will be vote on grant recipients at our annual meeting on September 25, 2024.

Christa Reiffers is passionate about the environment, education, activism, exercise, and cooking. She recharges through movement and rest, finding joy in meaningful conversations, mindfulness practices, eating, and reading.

Cheyenne is passionate about social media and enjoys the creative aspect of her work. She loves communicating and designing visual content with a purposeful message. In her free time, Chayenne explores new places through travel and hiking around the world with a non-profit based in Bellair, MI, called Freedom Summit Adventures, which also serves as a Bed and Breakfast known as The Park Street Inn. Impact100 Traverse City is impacting our community by awarding $100,000+ transformational grants to local nonprofits in the five-county region.

Since our inaugural year in 2017, we have raised awarded over $2.4 million with the generosity of our members. You can support our efforts by becoming a Friend of Impact. Our Grant Review team is working hard as they objectively score and rate the grant applications for the five focus areas to select finalists to be announced August 28.

You may be wondering how does Impact 100 Traverse City decide which nonprofits receive a grant?

The members decide!

Once we know our annual membership number, we know how much we will be awarding in transformational grants in September.

🟠 We open the grant process for applications.
🟠 Nonprofits apply focused on at least one of five focus areas: family, education, health & wellness, art & culture, or environment.

Once grant applications are submitted, Impact 100 TC reviewers objectively score and rate each grant to determine finalists.

Finally, at the annual award celebration, there is a live vote of all members, and the 2024 grant recipients will be announced!

Olivia Stoerkel is passionate about teaching yoga and working with kiddos. She loves spending time with her friends and family and enjoys going on walks with her dog. Sunshine, loved ones, movement, and good food bring her joy and fulfillment every day.

One hundred percent of our member donations are given directly and entirely to charity.

The strategy is simple, proven, and powerful: 100 Women each donate $1,000. Then together we award a $100,000 grant to one Northern Michigan non-profit.

Impact100 Traverse City collectively funds transformational grants in the areas of environment & recreation, education, arts & culture, family, and health & wellness in the five-county area including Grand Traverse, Antrim, Leelanau, Benzie, and Kalkaska. We had a blast cheering on the Pit Spitters with our amazing Impact100 TC fam last week! Huge thanks to everyone who came out for a night of fun and community.

We're thrilled to welcome Jennifer Kuhar! Driven by a long-held desire to make a positive impact in the community, Jennifer found a perfect fit at a recent iConnect event.

"I felt an organic connection with the women I had conversation with at an iConnect event and knew instantly I wanted to be a part of this group making a difference that magnifies what I could do individually," she shared.

When Jennifer isn't busy making a difference, you'll likely find her cherishing moments with loved ones. A keen eye for design and photography allows her to capture beauty in the everyday, while nature, art, and a love for cooking (often complemented by a glass of vino!) round out her passions.

We're grateful to welcome Jennifer as a new member of Impact100 Traverse City.

Here's a little mid-week check-in to share where we are with our timeline.

Impact100 TC Grant Review Shari van der Grijn has been reviewing non-profit application proposals see how they rank within the 5 focus areas for best fit with their initiative.

• Focus Area Grant Review Committees will then spend a few weeks reviewing each application and select up to 4 initiatives for a more in-depth financial review.

• One finalist per focus area will be selected and announced at our August Meet the Finalists event on August 28 (SAVE THE DATE!).

I am truly inspired by their generous hearts, which have sustained our membership level so we can give three transformational grants again this year,” Impact100 Traverse City President Lindsay Raymond, said. “We’re excited to review this year’s grant proposals, and bring our total award given out to nonprofits in this five-county region to over $2.4 million in just 8 years,” she said.

Fore!!!!!! ⛳️ We had a blast (and the weather was perfect) at this week’s Impact100TC Golf Scramble. It was so much fun, both golfing, (or trying!) and meeting new members and just hanging out on the course. Thanks to our Member Engagement Committee for putting it together.

Today we're shining a light on Katie Korroch, a new member who joined us to connect with the incredible women of Impact100 TC. She shares our passion for making a difference and is eager to be part of this community of purpose-driven women. Welcome to Impact100 TC!

One of Katie's many interests, that she has turned into a career, is helping women feel their absolute best through fashion, style, and the power of color. Seeing someone's confidence blossom when they feel good in their own skin brings her immense joy.

For Katie, recharging is always rooted in the calming effect of the lake. And of course, a main source of joy comes from spending time with her amazing grandchildren and children – they fill her life with laughter and love.

We're so grateful to have you as a member, Katie!

In 2024 alone, we welcomed a whopping 89 new incredible members to Impact100 Traverse City.

This amazing number breaks down into two groups we're equally thrilled about:

•26 cherished members returning after a year or more away – welcome back! ❤️
