Last Thursday, we threw a fantastic 4th of July party at Dade Health and Rehab, despite the bustling day. We began the morning with hymnal gospel music from the New Life Church of God, who came and sang and started our day with gospel music with us, followed by a parade and afternoon celebration. Our residents, staff, family members, and volunteers all came together to celebrate. We enjoyed a delicious cookout with hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, chips, cakes, and refreshing watermelon. Everyone had a blast!

Special shoutouts to our amazing nurses, Shunda and Brittany (CNAs), Jen Gurley, Chris Campbell, dietary staff, Joeanne and Elijah, and housekeeping/laundry staff for their hard work. We're also thankful to Janet Page (Housekeeping/Laundry manager) and Candi Phillips (Dietary manager) for their help with grilling and making those tasty baked beans.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible volunteers who generously donated delicious food for our 4th of July party! Special thanks to:

- Ms. Connie Blevins, Denica Brown & Women's Ministry (from White Oak Baptist Church) for the burgers, hotdogs, potato salad, and coleslaw
- Ms. Jane Patterson for the refreshing watermelon

Today, we had a wonderful cooking session with Andrea at Dade Health and Rehab. Our residents had a blast making their own homemade pizzas🍕, and the finished product was absolutely delicious! They thoroughly enjoyed the activity and appreciated the opportunity to create their own culinary delights. We would like to thank Andrea Licon of Tapestry Hospice for sharing her time with our residents. Her kindness and dedication mean a lot to us! Thank you so much, Andrea! We love you from Dade Health and Rehab.

The American Legion Auxiliary Ladies visited Dade Health and Rehab with their presence today, bringing joy and excitement to our residents. They hosted a fun butter bean auction, which left our residents overjoyed to win! They also showed their appreciation for our Veteran residents with thoughtful gifts. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Charlotte Craig Stevens, Ms. Debbie Sharp, and Ms. Sandy Paz for reaching out to us and hosting this wonderful event. Thank you again, and May God bless you all! ❤️

Today, we had a popcorn and movie night and enjoyed watching 'Mrs. Doubtfire' with our residents. We had a good laugh with the movie.

Dade Health and Rehab had a fantastic day today! We started with a beautiful morning devotion on the patio, led by two of our remarkable gentlemen, Brother Jay and Brother Bain. The fellowship, testimonies, and singing were truly uplifting. Later, at 1 pm, we hosted a petting zoo from Grace Fed Farms Mobile Petting Zoo, kindly provided by Cathy Worley, Andrea Licon, and Tapestry Hospice. Residents, staff, family members, and visitors alike enjoyed interacting with the animals, petting and holding them. This was followed by a joyful singing session featuring hymns with Michael Tinker, Pastor Dean, and their group from New Life Church of God. The residents were beaming with delight, making it a truly special day for all! Thank you to all our incredible volunteers and to Tapestry Hospice, and to Grace Fed Farms, thank you guys for coming today! Your kindness, time, and energy have brought so much joy and happiness to our residents. Thank you for all that you do to brighten their days and bring smile to their faces. We appreciate you and we are forever grateful. May God richly bless you! ❤️

As we reached the 5th and final day of our Nursing Home Week, we set sail for Paris, eager to indulge in the beauty and romance of the French capital. We were excited to explore the city of love and experience its world-renowned cuisine and art. Our last destination promised to be a memorable one. In the morning, we watched the timeless Breakfast at Tiffany's while enjoying the delicious pastry, sipping coffee, hot chocolate, and chatting with fellow travelers. The afternoon was filled with the sweet sounds of and French music, dancing and indulging in delicious French food, including croissants, fresh salad, cheese and crackers, olives, some pastry, and champagne, creating a truly magical experience. Taking pictures at the Eiffel Tower was a highlight of our trip. 🇫🇷 🗼

On the fourth day of Nursing Home Week, we embarked on a virtual cruise to Polynesia, a beautiful destination known for its crystal-clear waters and lush greenery. In the morning, we watched The Gilligan Islands while snacking on freshly popped popcorn, reminiscing about the good old days and enjoying the light-hearted humor of the show. At lunchtime, a cookout for both staff and residents took place, with everyone enjoying delicious grilled foods and refreshing drinks in the warm sunshine. As the day drew to a close, we indulged in banana split ice cream, piña colada, and strawberry, savoring the sweet flavors and the joyful atmosphere. To top it all off, we spent some quality time loving on some adorable babies, with Polynesian music playing in the background, creating a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you to our maintenance director, Danny Boatner, for grilling scrumptious burgers and hotdogs and to Candi Bearden and the Dietary Team for their diligence in preparing and ensuring our food is ready for all staff and residents. Last but not least, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Cathy Worley and Andrea Licon from Tapestry Hospice for generously providing us with delicious piña colada and strawberry flavors for our delightful desserts, adding a sweet touch to our Nursing Home Week. Thanks to all our staff from Dade Health and Rehab for all their hard work and dedication. 🛳 🚢

Dade Health and Rehab celebrated World Cultural Diversity Fest with a taste of diverse dishes from various countries, exciting residents. The event aimed to promote unity and understanding among people from different backgrounds through food. Residents, staff, and family members enjoyed sharing a variety of international dishes. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our incredible volunteers who generously donated their time and effort for baking, cooking, and bringing mouth-watering food for us to savor. Dade Health and Rehab was blessed with a visit from Woodlawn Baptist Church yesterday. Spreading joy through gospel music, handing out cards and bananas, and visiting residents in their rooms, praying for their well-being and showing love.
