One of the most interesting events of our Carnival Week was a visit to our community by a group of motorcycle enthusiasts. Executive Director Melissa Zentz and her husband belong to this group and, yes, she does ride her own bike! The residents were excited to meet the members of this group and to get up close to the bikes. Two of our lady residents used to ride, so they were especially thrilled! We certainly have fun at Brookdale Troutdale! 🏍️ 😊
Our residents participated in an art activity recently during our Carnival Week. There were two, large canvasses that were painted on by residents from Clare and residents from Bridge. They were instructed to paint what they feel, and the results were awesome! We have a unique painting hanging in the activity rooms in each neighborhood. The residents had fun and were proud of what they did. We are, too! ❤️
On Wednesday, during our Brookdale Troutdale Carnival Week, we were visited by three extremely important guests: a miniature horse named Fire, a baby duck, and a baby chick! They were accompanied by their "mom," Tami, and "sister" Megan. The residents enjoyed being able to get up close and personal with our new friends! Tami, who is Sales Manager Debby's daughter, wants to come back on a more frequent basis, so the residents can have even more fun. Thanks to Debby, Tami, and Megan! ❤️
It's Carnival Week at Brookdale Troutdale! On Monday, two entertainers performed for the residents. Pianist Monte Watters entertained during the morning and Mark Stevens, also known as Elvis, got the room moving in the afternoon. We are lucky to have these two people who enjoy bringing joy to our residents as they perform oldies but goodies. Every foot was tapping, hands were clapping and lips were moving to songs that once upon a time meant something to those in attendance. Everyone had fun! ❤️
Tuesday was a banana bread/muffin bake-off! Residents from Bridge and Clare, along with kitchen staff, competed to see who made the best bread or muffin. The guest chefs were Jann and Linda from our Bridge Neighborhood and Herb and Zoe Ann from our Clare Neighborhood. Chefs Tessa and Gwen represented the kitchen. The residents tasted these delectable treats and presented their winning vote for the Bridge banana muffins! Congratulations to Jann and Linda! ❤️ 😋
