I am a huge fan of Allie & Ben (and whatever is happening with this goat and this bridesmaid bouquet). This early June wedding — how was it only last month — was an ode to the vibrancy of Early Summer and this peony-meets-poppy moment, with the most perfect photos by

I’m so happy to be in community with — we’re here til 5 today with a make-your-own-bouquet situation, plus goods from friends .botanicalsoap, , and .nostalgia 🍒💋🍓❤️🐞. Come hang, drink some kombucha, be cozy and see all our colors with your real eyes.
I’m telling you: the feeling you get from a grocery store bouquet compares to the feeling of these flowers like a goldfish compares to a blue whale
(edited from “like a goldfish [cheesy cracker] compares to a triple crème [specifically St Stephen can I get an amen, I’m hungry])”
Which is a better metaphor, you tell me
Our Valentine options are live and ready-to-order, including 4 sizes of florals, a drawing workshop, and any of the sweet little goods in the webshop it’s all a nice gift but get it before 2/12 ❤️
Ali & Arjun had a two-day celebration with a bright, warm palette on day one for their Haldi ceremony and a muted, earthy palette on day two. We repurposed the first arrangements, added bountiful bowls of florals, re-did the arbor, strung garland on the baraat (golf cart) and mixed it all together through rain and shine — and it was unspeakably gorgeous, because just look at these people, they’re incredible. Big big thanks to Arjun & Ali, and all these incredible vendors:

The beautiful, thoughtful, wild wedding of Carla & Ivan in late October. Our gardens kept holding on and spitting out perfect zinnias, grasses, roses and more for this antique elegant and cozy shindig. Just look at Carla’s boots!

I grow flowers and fold them into each other, into crowns and bundles and bowls and arbors, hang them from walls, pin them on suits. Years of learning how to grow, when to cut, what temperature to keep them, and always surprised by new feelings they give me: color texture shape. We did 25 big weddings this year and 30 small ones, each a sliver of a season.
To be a part of a celebration, every week, all the living season — to slice the season and with earned practice serve up its best beauty — it helps me love the world, express the love I have for this horrible, beautiful, changing world — that transforms my bare brown gnarled gardens into transparent sculptures of light.
This hardly-bearable world, where so many things are crumbling just as my child asks about them, wanting me to define things just as they become meaningless, encountering the concept of war and asking — why is it not here and when might it be? And still the plants know nothing, blooming in the wrong season still reaching out into the terrible world with all innocence and perseverance.
I suppose in this place I should say Hire Me, Please, and please do; I’ve built a little life I’d like to keep. But I can’t use the same portal to encounter the news of the dying world and beg it for income with the same eyes, same breath. I hope I get to keep growing flowers, and it’s a hope I extend to all persons everywhere. Ceasefire now.

Happy Solstice 🕊️ May a peaceful new world find a way to be born from this broken one. Hope is a muscle. Ceasefire now. (Thank you Jess and Stella for saving this angel apple and putting it on the counter at
One more wedding before we dive into the biggest flower holiday of the year—October 2021 at Stonover Farm with Erin & Jason: deep reds and velvet textures and fuzz and fizz and pop.

On this nearly 100-degree May day, our garden bees swarmed in the very early morning. Beekeeper and I, both of us with big events that afternoon, did our best to capture the swarm and give our bees another home. I think some of that wild airy energetic excitement made its way into Nicole’s bouquet, and - pardon this metaphor - she and Kwame were like the calm sweet skillful beekeepers of this perfect wild wedding.

I just made a delivery to new friend, lover of gardens, and influential scholar and activist Barbara Smith, founder of the Combahee River Collective. Barbara is looking for an assistant to help with correspondence and organizing her extensive archive. If this is your course of study/kind of work, DM me and I’ll put you in touch. I am so honored to have met and spent time with her, and would love to help her find someone great.
