And ... drumroll please ... our Truckee Hoedown Open Division winners were Christian Grennier in first, Jack Roof in second, and Aidan Reilly in third. Killer turn out!
The amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to get Rocker Memorial Skatepark built is … insane.
Today was a good day in that we were issued a 2yr permit extension. Boring picture right? That’s the reality of this work, it’s not glamorous.
Delays in agreements between ToT, TDPUD & TDRPD for items such as the maintenance for the sidewalk we have to put in (civil improvements) has cost money and delayed permit issuance for 27 months. It’s been extremely frustrating. We have forward movement on these items and hope to have the CoA’s complete by EOY.
We need to hit 70% of funding before we can break ground. Right now we are at roughly 30%. We have two years. Approx $1.2M more is needed. Total project cost exceeds $2M.
If you can help either in donations of materials/labor/money or fundraising. Please reach out. Put it on paper so we can include it in our running totals with TDRPD.
We need help. For more details hit the website. We’re all volunteers trying to get this done.
Thanks for the support. - Colin
Our Truckee Hoedown Women's Division was STRONG this year. We had Lily Sanders shredding into first, Veda Hallen of Board Shop, ELECTRIC, and Coal Headwear in second, and Hannah Ellis in third. Way to rip it, ladies!
Thank you, CAPiTA SNOWBOARDING ! You’re helping us create a space where skateboarding becomes a lifelong habit—no costs, no coaches, just pure love for the sport. 💪🛹
Huge gratitude to Union Binding Company! Because of you, we’re building more than a skatepark—we’re building a second home for skaters in Truckee. 🏠🛹
Our Old Man (39+) group is always a crowd fav. These geezers still rip. Dane Leonard took the win with Erik Bibelheimer of Goodtimes Boardstore and BLOOD WIZARD SKATEBOARDS taking second, and Trevor Kekke rounding out third. Skate or die is real.
Our 18-38 age group at Truckee Hoedown was blowing minds. Sander Brun took first, Terran Harlo from Dog Pound Skate Shop took second, and Jaxsen Troy from Play skate shop took third.
Big thanks to ! Your support is making the Rocker Memorial Skatepark a place for athletes, creatives, and everyone in between. Let’s keep rolling! 🛹✨
Shoutout to ! Your sponsorship helps us foster a diverse and resilient community at the new skatepark. We can’t wait to see the positive impact it’ll have!
