In addition to the museum of Truckee History, the Truckee Jail Museum is open this Saturday and Sunday June 15 and 16 from 10AM-2PM. It is located at 10142 Jiboon St. just off Spring St. By Donner Pass Rd. In Downtown Truckee.
Doctor Heidi Kuzma, Doctor Dan Hopper and the Truckee Mountain Belles will be performing live music to accompany Charlie Chaplin's famous silent classic film, The Gold Rush. Filmed on location in Truckee in 1925 and inspired by the Donner Party and the Klondike Gold Rush, this film features the famous Roll Dance and a cast of hundreds climbing over the Palisades in what is now Sugar Bowl. It's an evening you will never forget. One night only! Saturday, May 18 at the Community Arts Center Auditorium in downtown Truckee!.
Doors open at 6, show is at 6:30. The movie showing will be proceeded by a brief overview of movies shot in Truckee by the Truckee-Donner Historical Society. Suggested donation is $20 General Admission and $5 students. Online ticket sales are through the link below or at the door. All profits benefit the Truckee-Historical Society and the Tahoe Truckee School of Music.
