Yesterday was a wonderful day at PACC, with several of our long-timers heading home. The biggest win of the day was Suzuki, who has been with us over a year, heading to a foster (to adopt? 🤞) home!

We're starting today with 441 dogs and 98 cats in shelter. We need to have another GREAT day of fosters and adoptions in order to keep our census trending downward‼️ Remember, if we can stay under 450 dogs consistently, we can eliminate our euthanasia list 🎉 and keep dogs safer from shelter stress and infectious diseases like distemper.

We're open 10 to 5 p.m. today and would love to introduce you to some amazing adoptable animals!

Sweet Starlight is a favorite 'round these parts 💙 Read what one of our incredible volunteers had to say about her recently:

"Please meet Starlight. This spunky beauty is described by volunteers as a goofball! She’s bouncy, energetic, happy, and fun and she’s hoping to find an active family who can play with her and love her. When she first arrived at PACC, this cute gal was very overwhelmed by the shelter environment and she wasn’t sure what to make of all the new people. But thanks to her volunteer friends for showing her kindness and helping her learn some doggy skills, she’s now getting quite good at things like fetch, sit, and wait. She’s also responding to touch and affection and learning to walk well on a leash – in fact, she loves to take walks in the park and has been known to practice her dancing skills on the picnic tables!

Starlight is a little bit stiff and assertive when meeting other shelter dogs so she needs to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. She’ll also need to meet all members of the family because she needs consistency and people around her who can take things slow and let her go at her own pace.

Don’t let this entertaining gal pass you by. She’s full of life and waiting to meet you at PACC today."

We have to agree! Starlight is one of our long-stay dogs, and we'd love to see her get out of the shelter soon. Stop by PACC this weekend between 10 am and 4:15 pm to meet her!

Urgent! Can you help Buster?

Buster is an older guy who could really use a hand getting out of the shelter; to be honest, he's just not doing well here. This mellow senior has some health and mobility issues and some resulting discomfort with handling. He would benefit from a foster or adoptive home, or a rescue, who is able to take things slow and help him navigate the world.

We need to find him a new home (foster, adoptive, or with a rescue) ASAP as his quality of life here in the shelter is not good due to his health.
