The games got started off with the only World Cup semifinal qualification game with England taking on France. The game went to PK’s. Frances ended up winning.
The first semifinal saw Botswana beat Argentina on a PK shoot out. This was a result no one expected from yesterday’s strong performance. Coach Levi was in a state of shock.
Brazil managed to beat France 1-0 in the other semifinal. Brazil oozed in class. France looked somewhat tired after the earlier match.
FINAL…
BOTSWANA V BRAZIL.
An end-to-end football match which led to spectators to be on the end of their feet. The game was full of action. A lot of close chances, woodwork being hit and crazy decisions from the stand in referee.
BRAZIL came out on top with a 1-0 victory. This was overall fully deserved. Congratulations to Brazil on winning their sixth World Cup. Coach Mansour and his team will rest happy tonight!
The storms weren’t going to stop us from having getting a session in and having some fun. Our warmup started with Coach Kas’ rock paper scissor game to promote team building. Little Stu beat everyone leading into the finals and had the rest of the boys supporting him for the finals.. Watch the video to see the result; the kids were buzzin!!

What a night for Argentina grabbing 12 points!!

Soccer Synergy’s World Cup 2023 kicked off in dramatic fashion. It was a night of triumph and defeat. The AP was full of questions for the Argentina side. Four days after Lionel Messi scored the fastest goal of his career the leadership for the side is in question. Levi Coleman was rumored to be out for the remainder to the tournament following lackluster results. In an interview he showed little resilience, questioning his love for the game. Sophie Grona mentioned in a post-game interview she thought the leadership was quote on quote “soft.”
France was also under the spotlight. Austin Risenhoover navigating his second ever world cup side and was questioned for line changes and sub rotations. The high energy gaffer was confident going into the final rounds. Ryan Paul II and Noah both questioned coach Risenhoover mentioning they felt like an extra cafeteria trip during the day would get more wins for their side. The highlight of the night Mansour Ebrahimzadeh who crafted together a memorable night for his side. The soccer ball was moving all over the field. In one night, the group had several highlight level goals. Piper Browning led the group becoming the “spark plug” in key moments. She seemed confident in the teams’ tactics and plans moving forward. Kaspars Kokis made his world cup debut in a sleeveless shirt as expected. The team was quietly overwhelming as they post 8 points which put them tied for first place. The AP thought that was odd. Kaspars did not make appearance in the for post-game interviews. He reportedly was heading for a protein shake. Emily Schroeder led the group, connected passes and provided a holistic attack for her side. In other news John Woodhead’s group underwhelmed as expected from an English side. Jock Drouillard had an incredible night. At one point the AP reported that it seemed like there was 3 of him on the field at one time as he navigated space. However, it wasn’t enough “playing through the coaching” seemed difficult for Jack and the entire side. Hopefully they can regroup tomorrow.
