Low Impact Development (LID) practices are essential for managing stormwater, enhancing water quality, and protecting our streams.
Techniques like permeable pavers, rain gardens, and green roofs help reduce runoff and pollution by allowing rainwater to soak into the ground naturally. This process filters out pollutants before they can reach our waterways.
Join us and learn how you can make a difference with LID in your community. Visit Tulsastreams.com for more information.

Flexible film plastics—like plastic bags, bubble wrap, and packaging materials—should NOT go in the blue recycling cart. Beyond using them for trash, storing produce, or picking up after pets, here are 5 smart ways to repurpose plastic bags at home:
1️⃣ Vinegar baths for shower heads
2️⃣ Keep shoes and purses in shape
3️⃣ Create handy trash holders for cars
4️⃣ Protect painting tools from drying out
5️⃣ Guard plants against frost
Make the most out of your plastic bags! Learn more at tulsarecycles.com.
Proper lawn care not only enhances your curbside appeal but also helps to protect the environment. A healthy lawn prevents soil erosion, filters contaminants, and absorbs pollutants. Here’s how you can transform your lawn care routine:
🌵 Choose Drought-Resistant Plants: They require less fertilizer and water.
🍃 Use a Mulching Mower: Grass clippings return nutrients to the soil.
✂️ Cut Grass Wisely: Mow more often with sharp blades and only when the grass is dry.
♻️ Compost Yard Waste: Naturally enrich your soil with compost.
Reduce fertilizer use and keep our waterways clean! Learn more at Tulsastreams.com.
We are 37 days away from the opening of Zink Lake and Tulsa’s new pedestrian bridge, Williams Crossing!
