Learn how you can be a leader in your organization with SNU’s EdD in Administration and Leadership. This doctoral program with an embedded dissertation challenges students to become qualified leaders who contribute to their fields of study and inspire meaningful change. From the first class, you will be paired with a dissertation chair who will serve as your mentor throughout the program, which most students complete in less than 32 months.

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in the U.S. due to the Emancipation Proclamation of 1862. But the news did not spread to the enslaved in Texas for some years. As the enslaved people became aware of their freedom, they celebrated on June 19, 1865. This celebration came to be known as Juneteenth.

This holiday was first celebrated in churches, revealing a deep connection between faith and freedom. The Scriptures teach of Jubilee (Leviticus 25), the time prescribed for justice and freedom to be restored throughout Israel. Earth becomes a little more like Heaven when people are freed from injustice. May this day remind us to celebrate freedom and inspire us to strive for equity through education, faith, and empowerment.
