Community Nutritional Food and Grocery Distribution Event
May 23, 2024


Thank you to the EAAS Staff and Volunteers who contributed to the successful Community Nutritional Food and Grocery Distribution Event held on May 23, 2024. Fresh fruits and vegetables and grocery items were distributed to over 350 older adults! This was made possible in part by The Pittsburgh Foundation.

Entry Level Social Services Position

Bachelor's Degree or one year direct aging casework experience required. Entry level Social Services position Ability to work effectively with older adults.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Investigate allegations of abuse, neglect or exploitation of person or property.
Complete required documentation, forms and reports.
Field work.
Face to face interviews with clients and all other collateral contacts.
Collect and evaluate relevant information to make decisions related to investigations, services and outcomes.
Will provide assistance to alleviate the risk of harm when appropriate.
Complete reassessments as required.
Perform conflict resolution, if needed.
Provide emergency on-call after hours as scheduled.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required or one year direct aging casework experience. Salary based on experience.
Ability to work effectively with older population.
Must be able to visit clients in their homes or other place of residence.
Valid PA Driver's License.
Must have reliable vehicle and carry own vehicle insurance.
Ability to work independently / Remote work opportunities available after introductory period is completed.
Excellent communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
ACT 34 Clearance.

We are currently seeking Part-time Home Care Aides to join our team and help seniors in Allegheny County remain in their homes. No experience necessary. Training provided
Our Employees Enjoy:
* Great pay - $15/hr
* Mileage and travel time compensation between clients
* Shift differential for open shift pickups
* Paid time off after 1 year and 1000 hours of work
* 24 hour support staff
* Uniforms, gloves and masks are supplied
* Paid training program

Duties Include but are not limited to:
* Provide one on one care for clients in their homes.
* Basic housekeeping tasks: laundry, sweeping/vacuuming, dusting, dish-washing, linen changes, cleaning rooms.
* Grocery shopping.

* Medication reminders.

Since you will be traveling from participant to participant, you must be able to travel throughout the Eastern and Southeastern areas of Allegheny County, as needed, in any type of weather.

*Basic housekeeping; laundry, sweeping/vacuuming, dusting, dish-washing, linen
