Over $20M spent across 49 states—only to drive division.
Our latest research uncovered something alarming: despite the heavy investment, Donald Trump’s recent anti-trans ad isn’t changing voter behavior. What it is doing, however, is making our country more dangerous for transgender people.
Our randomized control trial on the Swayable platform revealed:
1. No measurable impact on who likely voters intend to vote for.
2. A significant decline in support for transgender acceptance across the board.
3. A sharp drop in policy support for healthcare access for transgender youth.
This is more than just a bad political strategy—it’s a cynical misuse of messaging. By weaponizing transgender identity, these ads drive fear and division, without achieving any meaningful political goals.
When we see results like this, it drives home the point that storytelling is a powerful tool for impact.
There are gaps in everyone’s lived experience, and when the opposition fills those gaps with harmful lies, it becomes even harder to speak the truth. Every day, we must work to present authentic, honest, and powerful stories across the issues we care about. It's the most powerful tool we have to build the world we want to see.
Are you ready to make your campaign unstoppable? 🚀

GROUND’s new website details our approach to Strategic Storytelling - where we use powerful narratives and cutting-edge research to create measurable impact.
We believe that getting 250 million people to see your video matters (we’ve done that), but proving it changes your audience’s mind and motivates action matters more (we do that too).
Please share the site with your colleagues, and drop us a line if you’d like to learn how we do it.

DOING PRIDE RIGHT
The amazing Gearah Goldstein, Co-Founder of The GenderCool Project Project, agreed to sit down with our Founder, David Rochkind, to talk about it.

We knew we wanted to honor , but we had questions about the right way to do it. Rather than letting our uncertainty lead us to do nothing, we thought we would talk with some of the people we respect most about what it means to "Do Pride Right."
If you don't have time for the whole interview, here are some of our favorite moments:
1:47 - Gearah's Shares Part of Her Story
4:39 - The Balance Between Storytelling and Listening
8:02 - Inviting Others into Conversation and Why an Open Door Policy is Not Enough
11:05 - Why DEI matters to the NextGen Workforce and Customer Base
13:30 - Turning Pride Month into Pride Year
Please show your appreciation for Gearah in the comments!

REMEMBER WHEN...
COVID lockdown started three years ago.
**That seems like so long ago, and yet it feels like yesterday, right?!**
The emerging pandemic shocked us all and went on to take so much. According to the World Health Organization (link), almost 7 million people have lost their lives to COVID, and over 761 million cases have been reported.
Former Michigan State Representative Robert Wittenberg and his family experienced the shocking first days of C19 while bringing a baby into the world. Due to the early C19 quarantines, the only way their extended family and friends could meet the baby was through the large window in their living room. We worked with them as they courageously stood up, shared their story, and helped us all persevere.
Images like this of friends and family members visiting each other through large windows, just like the Wittenbergs, flooded social media during the lockdown. Hands pressed against one another through glass, tears, and smiles on either end. These shared moments, close together yet still so far apart, will be the visuals that define this pandemic.
We are sending a big thank you to Wittenberg (now the Oakland Country Treasurer) and his family for courageously standing up, sharing their story, and helping us get through a generational crisis.
🏆 Congratulations AMOR, and to our Creative Director and AMOR Director David Rochkind, on receiving the Best Metro DC award from the DC Independent Film Festival! 🏆

MEET AMOR
Lately I've been writing music at home. It's been how I can really express myself emotionally and not feel like I'm being judged. I have questioned God -I do ask a lot of times like: “Why, why, why”? I feel like sometimes God is making me suffer. But music, man - It's definitely a therapy. I feel like I'm in a whole different element. Like all the pain that I've felt, I can let it all out. Right there.”
AMOR shares her words and voice with the world in 4 days!
GROUND MEDIA’S first documentary short premieres at the DC Independent Film Festival on Sunday, March 5th.
“I may not show my feelings all the time but I do have them. I want Ari'a to see that her life makes an impact to those around her.” - AMOR
You can still get tix for the premiere of Amor - check the comments for the link!
Loss, love, gun violence, grief, HOPE.
“There are events, themes and issues that are present in Amor and Ari’a’s life that make their way into this film - loss, love, gun violence, grief and healing to name a few. Beyond all of that, I hope this is a story about strength, hope and perseverance.“ - Director, David Rochkind
