Haddonfield Celebrations Association
This volunteer group sponsors Haddonfield's 4th of July Fireworks & Parade, Halloween Parade, and Tree Lighting Ceremony & Santa Parade.
Please consider making a donation.
Residents of Haddonfield should have received our solicitation flyer in the last few days. While the Borough of Haddonfield provides us $10,000 and plenty of Public Safety and Public Works support for our activities, the fireworks alone cost $25,000. Without your support, we won't be able to pay for the fireworks or the bands in the 4th of July parade and the other costs of our activities. Last year our solicitation brought in half of what we usually receive. If we don't do better this year, there may not be fireworks. Also remember the sponsors of our flyer, 23 Stems and Haddonfield Fine Jewelers for you Valentine gift giving needs.
July 3rd Yankee Doodle Do and Fireworks
We now have the details
Because of stricter interpretation of fire requlations by New Jersey, the fireworks had to be moved from the downtown area. This year they will be shot from an area of the old Bancroft property near Cooper River Park. Our Yankee Doodle Do is being moved down the Kings Highway to an area around the Haddonfield Memorial High School.
The Yankee Doodle Do will take place on Monday July 3rd from 5.00 p.m until the start of the fireworks at roughly 9.15 p.m. on Kings Highway by the Haddonfield High School.
In order to accomodate the event, Kings Highway will be closed from the light at Potter and Grove Street to Park Ave in Cherry Hill. Hopkins Lane will be closed from Grove Street to Kings Highway. Access to Roberts Avenue will be blocked at Belmont and Springfield Terrace. Residents of the areas that are impacted by these closures are being notified of the closures and how to insure access and egress in case of an emergency by the police department. No parking will be available in the lots around the high school,
The best viewing areas for the fireworks will be from Kings Highway, the high school parking lot immediately to the right side of the high school and the adjacent Lullworth Hall parking lot. The Lullworth Hall parling lot is a gravel lot, so be careful walking there and, it you put a chair there, be sure it is level before you sit.
The usual activites will all be there.
The stage will be in front of the High School flag pole. The Shore Thing will start performing around 7.30 p.m.
The bounce houses from J-Dogz will be on the street near the Historical Society. They will also be selling hotdogs.
There will be four food trucks. They will be located in the High School parking lot. The trucks will include Jeremiah's Custom Cuisine, Red's Rolling Restaurant, Gita's Mobile Cafe and Nick's Roast Beef. In addition, Mr. Softee trucks and Sparrows Popcorn wagon will be located aroumd the area.
And, as always, the Haddonfield Celebrations Association will be selling novelties from three locations. Please remember that the proceeds from these sales help pay for the the fireworks and parade entertainment we enjoy each year.
And, finally, the port-a-potties will be located at the back of parking lot at the side of the High School, well (or at least enough) past the food trucks.
Fourth of July Parade!
The Fourth of July Parade will kick off from the corner of Kings Highway and Chestnut Street at 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday July 4th. There will be bands, incuding Mummers bands, but best of all, people from the community - the fire company, veterans, borough organizations like Lions and Rotary, neighborhood groups and lots of kids on bikes. There is no better way to celebrate America than all the people and organizations that make up this nation.
Community organizations, neighborhood groups and floats and family groups can register at the corner of Kings Highway and Chestnut Street in front of the bank from 8.30 to 9.30 on the morning of the parade. Kids on bikes don't have to register. They meet behind the Presbyterian Church. The antique autos meet at the top of King's Highway near the Patco High Speed Line. Their registration will be in front of Grace Church.

News Flash
The Yankee Doodle Do and Fireworks are being moved. We could not get permission to shoot fireworks from the Central/Middle School fields. We will be allowed to shoot the fireworks from an area in the former Bancroft properties. For that reason the Yankee Doodle Do has been moved down Kings Highway from the business district an area near the high school. More details will be issued as the plans for this change are finalized. The Parade will take place as usual.
With the Yankee Doodle Do, fireworks and Parade coming up soon, one of the best ways to stay informed about traffic, parking or weather issues is to follow Borough of Haddonfield.
A big thank you!
Haddonfield Celebrations sends a big thank you to all who made donations to our annual fundraising appeal. While the Borough of Haddonfield contributes $10,000 for our efforts, our expenses are over $35,000. The fireworks alone cost $22,500. We couldn't do it without you, THANKS! (I hate all caps, but we do want to shout our thanks.)
Special Note about Kings Highway Road Work
Because of the work on the Kings Highway bridge over the PATCO High Speed Line tracks, there will be changes to traffic pattrerns and this will affect some of the staging for the Yankee Doodle Do and the Eourth of July Parade. We will keep you informed, We have set up a Twitter accoun, , to insure quick information about these events. Please follow us to insure you get the latest updates.
