Mental Wellness Mastery: Jonathan Snowiss On Everyday Life Hacks For Optimal Mental Wellness An Interview With Eden Gold
My latest blog post.
Lack of Information: Perceived Chaos Chaos and order do not matter. Your action does matter.
This is the second article I wrote about the yin/yang.
Dao De Jing Ch. 2: The Dao Has No Opinion The Dao is the cosmos that lets life flow. It cannot favor one thing over another. Therefore, from our perspective, it is harsh, but in order for life to flow, change, it does not take preference o…
I published this a while ago in Qi Journal. And I recently published the second part which I will post soon. This is from my blog. Hope you enjoy.
Demystifying the Yin/Yang The yin/yang is how the universe works. It is much deeper and larger than what people can possibly imagine.
This was published in 2020. Learn the basics of the yin/yang theory.

My new years article for the Martial Journal.
What is Your Contribution? - Martial Journal What can you contribute to the future of the martial arts in the fast changing world? What new paths can we take it?
An article I wrote a while back. Most likely controversial, but we can't agree on everything.
Titles are Confining In the realm of students of virtue, martial arts and other studies, there is a love affair with “warrior”. It is a title, mindset category, or emotional goal. It has its benefits, but I…
Get your New Year started with Tai Chi.
It is more than just a health exercise, it has neurological benefits of memorization, mind/body coordination, breathing, relaxation, balance, and energy flow.
Although balance seems straightforward like standing on one foot, but that is not what balance is about. Many people are unbalanced when sitting down! Balance has to do with body structure, foot placement, changing weight from one foot to the other without change where you are…
A master once said, “Our hands are smart, our feet are dumb.”

Last night I watched Disney's Wish with my daughters. I get why the reviews were not so great. But they missed out on so much of history (easter eggs of pretty much all Disney cartoon movies), politics (how a philosopher king from Plato can turn very wrong), philosophy/spirituality (our wishes are personal and let us grow), virtue (doing what is right without self-righteousness), sociology (people's need for safety and willing to give up something for it), and astronomy (we are made of stars). It was packed with more lessons than any other Disney cartoon movies. You don't have to watch it, but know that it is better than what reviews tell.
I was interviewed on mental well-being. Here is the article:

Tai Ji Quan — Defense Arts Center Many people interchange the use of Tai Chi and Tai Ji Quan or Tai Chi Ch’uan because it is popularly known as Tai Chi. This often causes confusion. Tai Chi is actually the Yin/Yang Diagram. This symbolizes the two opposing forces of the universe. It can be translated into “the Grand Ultimate...
There were two monks walking down the path and came upon a stream. There, a lady with a beautiful dress was anxiously trying to figure out how to cross without damaging her dress. The older monk asks, “can I help you? I can carry you across.” She was very thankful. Since the monks wear simple clothing, they were not worried about their clothes to walk across. On the other side the lady went on another path and the monks continued on theirs.
A mile up the path, the younger monk says, “senior, I don’t understand, we are monks. You broke a rule. I’m confused.”
The older monk said, “what are you talking about?”
The younger monk said, “we’re not allowed to touch women, let alone hold one in our arms!”
“Again, what are you talking about? Oh, wait, are you talking about a person helping another person cross the stream? Hahahaha. I put her down a long time ago. Why are you still carrying her?”

An old Daoist story by Zhuang Zi on perspective on ugliness:
A carpenter and a wise sage were walking down the pathway. The sage was explaining the Daoist thought to him.
The carpenter replied: your philosophy is useless like this ugly old tree. The wood is all warped and full of knots. I cannot make a table or a chair or anything with it. It does not make sense (full of chaos and confusion). It is useless.
The sage replied: ahhh yes, you cannot make anything out of it and you are not wrong. However, you are missing the beauty of its nature. The tree gives a shade to rest in. We can breathe its fresh air. We can admire its beauty and strength. Also, it is safe from your axe. It will never be cut down.
Use the virtues of humbleness and patience to see nature as it is. Learn to see perspectives that our egos do not want us to know.
