Hi friends and future friends, we are scheduling appointments now. We are scheduling routine appointments for June. If you have a more urgent need, we can see you sooner.

We do need to practice precautions, including:
-patients and staff wearing face masks
-patients and staff using hand sanitizer or hand washing. We will wear gloves if the patient feels more comfortable with that.
-we are sanitizing surfaces and equipment between patients
-social distancing, which means that we will limit how many come into the office to two at a time, and prefer one at a time. Please call ahead when visiting the office. Parents, of course, may come in with a child. Plexiglass shields are present where applicable.
-if you are (or we) are sick, have a fever or other symptoms of COVID19, please do not come (we will not come) to the office until well and symptom-free for 2 weeks.
-we prefer forms be completed before coming to the office and can email them to you for that purpose.
-frames will be cleaned after trying on.
-contact lenses and glasses can be picked up curbside or be mailed, although glasses usually benefit from adjustment at dispensing.

Because this virus is dangerous, but can be present and symptom-free, our encounter necessitates closeness, and we do not have hospital level protection, we need to observe these precautions. Thank you for your understanding.

Let's all stay as safe as possible and well!

To reduce the spread of COVID 19, routine, non-urgent eye care should be postponed at least three weeks, but I would anticipate the caution will extend into May. Presently, VisionOne is open Mon-Thurs 1-6, Friday 1-3, and Saturday 10-noon, with a skeleton crew and subject to change! We are taking precautions such as masks and gloves for those urgent needs. Contacts and glasses can be mailed to reduce visits.

Stay safe. Stay home if possible, wash hands frequently and thoroughly, sanitize your environment, maintain a 6' social distance. Glasses would be a safer option than contacts at this time, as it limits touching the eyes.

It might not be easy, but we can find the right frame for you!

Even dolls need an eye exam! Schedule your or your child's eye exam today! The American Optometric Association recommends exams at 6 months, 3 years, and annually for age 5 and older. We have a great selection of children's and adult frames. For the young children, it is important to establish if the vision can develop normally for both eyes, checking for refractive error, eye alignment, and eye health.

Milkweed - good for Monarchs, bad for eyes - Betty Hall Photography 08/23/2019

The sap from milkweed plants is extremely toxic for the eye, causing decreased vision that may not fully resolve and severe redness. If you get it in your eyes (please don't!), flush generously with water or saline and come to the office ASAP.

Milkweed - good for Monarchs, bad for eyes - Betty Hall Photography I had a scare last week, and I hope others can learn from my experience. One afternoon, my eyes suddenly started burning and tearing. I washed them with artificial tears and used a cold wet compress and they seemed okay. However, a bit later my world became extremely foggy although my husband, Harry...

A plant that causes permanent burns & blindness is spreading across the US 07/31/2019

Please learn to recognize this plant, hogweed. It can be found in Ohio and is very toxic. If sap gets in your eye, you should flush ASAP with large quantity of water and wear sunglasses, as the damage is increased by UV light, and call the office.

A plant that causes permanent burns & blindness is spreading across the US Having a walk among flowers and plants is one of the best things about summer BUT health officials are warning people about a wild plant which has a great danger to those who touch it. Hogweed is the name of the plant, or Heracleum mantegazzianum, which is now rapidly growing is many states througho...

Is It ADHD or a Vision Problem? 01/04/2019

If a child is having difficulty with reading or attention, an eye exam is an important part of helping find solutions.

It is recommended that children have an eye exam at 6 months, 3 years, 5 years, and annually thereafter. The first eye exam establishes if the eyes are focused and aligned adequately for them to develop good vision. Your child does not know if their vision should be clearer. If your child has never had an eye exam, only screenings, schedule one today at VisionOne!

Is It ADHD or a Vision Problem? If your child is fidgety, hyperactive, or distressed by his schoolwork, an ADHD diagnosis might seem like a no-brainer. But these behaviors may actually be due to vision problems instead. Learn how…
