A: “As a first-gen Latina coming into this university, I wanted to take advantage of every opportunity I was given! My parents are big enthusiast of traveling and exploring other cultures, but we didn’t have a chance to explore many countries as I was growing up. Therefore, when study abroad seemed like a possibility, I took the chance and went for it even if it felt intimidating. I wanted to use opportunities I knew my parents did not have a chance to have, and be able to know the world a bit better to later on show them the possibility of exploring more.”
