Follow these steps to get back to running safe and strong.
I don’t care about your pain.
I am much more interested in your ability to perform the activity you want to, with confidence and strength.
Pain is a small part of the equation, not the only piece to the puzzle.

What else do you think makes for a successful runner?
Pro tip: If you run 2 minutes, 2 miles, or 200 miles, you’re a runner.
You don’t have to finish the Boston marathon or local 5k to “become” a runner. You don’t have to be elite. You can be a beginner.
Running is one of the best things out there. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Heck, you could run barefoot if you wanted.
I often chat with people who just started running, have a done a few short runs but still don’t classify themselves as a runner.
You don’t have to run a certain time, distance, fit a certain demographic, race, socioeconomic class, body type, age, etc.
The running community is here to stay, and you’re welcome to join.

Hi, I’m Kyler. I’m a husband, father, and rehab chiropractor by trade. Most of what you’ll find here involves mobility, strength, and my love for all forms of movement. MVMNT is one of the greatest gifts we have as humans. Outside of that, here are few facts about me.
- The right side of my face is full of titanium.
- I was just over 2lbs when I was born. (Where are my fellow preemies at??)
- I love coffee and bikes. If you like either, let’s be friends, I could talk about them all day.
- My favorite music genre is indie folk/folk alternative.

For each month of the 2024 calendar year, we will be collaborating on a “Monthly Movement” post to help you with your health and fitness goals.
As we begin this year, many of us have New Year’s resolutions or goals. These are great, but can often be challenging to sustain throughout the entire year. One way that you can increase the chances of maintaining your resolutions/goals is by taking small steps of commitment each day, and by following the principles of recovery.
One of the most important methods of recovery, is sleep. Sleep acts as the body’s natural recovery supplement, and play a critical role on how we feel, interact, and perform during the day.
For the month of January, focus on getting quality sleep with these helpful tips and tricks.
