Today we celebrate Civil Air Patrol becoming a part of the U.S. Air Force Total Force in 2015. CAP members are part of the Total Force along with the regular Air Force, Guard, and Reserve.

Lowndes County Announces AlertLowndes to Keep Community Informed During Emergency Situations
Public Safety Officials Encourage Residents to Sign Up For Local Emergency Notifications To Be Better Prepared for an Emergency
Lowndes County, Georgia: Public safety officials in Lowndes County today announced that AlertLowndes is now available to all residents, replacing the previous CodeRed system. AlertLowndes is a free service that allows individuals to receive notifications sent from Lowndes County Emergency Management to stay informed on potentially hazardous situations involving severe weather and other emergencies.
The switch to AlertLowndes allows residents to receive alerts via phone, text and email, and answer poll questions that will give Lowndes County officials critical information during emergency situations.
While some individuals who were previously signed up for Code Red may have their information transferred and automatically enrolled in AlertLowndes everyone is encouraged to sign up for AlertLowndes to add additional and updated information to the new platform to ensure accuracy. Residents and travelers to Lowndes County should sign up for free at https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action?pa=AlertLowndes to receive timely and actionable emergency alerts via email, text, or voice message. They can also identify when and how they are alerted and communicated with before, during, and after emergencies.
“AlertLowndes strengthens Lowndes County officials’ ability to communicate with residents when it matters most,” said Ashley Tye, Director, Lowndes County Emergency Management. “This service allows for critical communication with the public and provides individuals with the information needed to stay safe or take precautions during hazardous or emergency situations."

Parents, as we are only days away from the summer encampment, please carefully review the drop off and graduation information sent to your email and located on our encampment site. For safety purposes, ONLY encampment staff (cadet and senior members) and students are allowed inside the encampment area. No family members, friends, or CAP Members not participating in encampment will be allowed inside. There are no exceptions to this policy.

During encampment, we will update our Facebook and Instagram accounts daily, post photos on the Wing SmugMug page, and post and email daily blogs about the experiences they are having. And new this year, we will also be live-streaming the graduation ceremony on our YouTube page.

Our very own C/Capt James has been given the position of Cadet Director of Curriculum for the 2024 GAWG NCOA. Her interview highlighted her drive and motivation in being a great leader and wanting to ensure cadets have a better opportunity to be a successful C/NCO. This past Saturday 8 Cadets and 2 senior members participated in a Group IV Field Training Exercise specializing in Ground Team Missions, Mission Base, and Communications Training. Cadets seen here are preparing a 24 hour pack. Great job 419! One step closer to Ground Team Certification😁👏

Brig. Gen. Regena Aye has been named Civil Air Patrol's next national commander and the corporation’s CEO by the CAP Board of Governers. She has been national vice commander since 2021 and has more than 30 years of CAP service. What a great weekend for GA 419! We trained with the 4BDE of the Georgia State Defense Force and the Air Evac Life team on how to select a landing zone, set up the landing zone, landing zone safety, windsock setup, and flight hand signals. We also received information about the civilian flight medical career requirements. Great FUN! Special thanks to all of those who made this event possible and to VMS for allowing us to use their track/field area as a landing zone. ,
