On Dec. 11, the Graduate School of Education hosted 55 students and teachers from Vallejo High School. They participated in career and active learning activities and toured the campus. All programs and colleges on campus were involved. Students visited the pharmacy clinical practice lab, anatomy lab, research labs, and classrooms.
On November 2, the GSOE hosted 50 teachers and staff from the South Peninsula Hebrew Day School for their retreat and learning summit. Under the guidance of Dr. Pamela Redmond, graduates of the Master's degree programs in Educational Technology and Innovative Learning led the teachers and administrators through an inquiry-based approach to teaching, 21st century skills needed for workplace readiness and innovative approaches to learning. This exciting new partnership with a K-8 school with deep Jewish beliefs has resulted in many of the teachers from the school joining the GSOE's Innovative Learning Master of Education program.

Dear TUC Graduate School of Education Students and Teachers,
Touro University California is partnering with St. Mary’s College of California in Moraga to support the Better Together: California Teachers Summit on July 31,2015. St. Mary’s is the host campus for this event. We are a co-host. Sonoma State is also hosting the event. Their campus may be closer to you.
This summer, more than 20,000 teachers from across the state will gather for Better Together: California Teachers Summit, a one-of-a-kind event designed to help teachers like you build a powerful network of peers, share best practices and access effective resources to implement the new California Standards, including the Common Core. The FREE event will take place on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be held at 33 locations, including college and university campuses across the state.
We all agree teachers deserve more opportunities to connect with other teachers, share what’s working in classrooms and learn cutting edge strategies that will help them maximize their skills. That is why New Teacher Center, the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU) and California State University (CSU) have put together this unprecedented day of learning. The program will include presentations from nationally renowned speakers and discussions led by teachers and for teachers about new and innovative practices. You will walk away with access to resources and concrete tools you can immediately use in your classroom. A .5 unit continuing education credit will be available to interested teachers at a minimal cost.
I encourage you to register for this opportunity today! Go to www.cateacherssummit.com to learn more, find the location nearest to you and register for the free day of learning.
