We had a full house tonight at the Center 140 plus. Yes we do this once a month. Our monthly dinner this month was Disco Fever. The house was movin’ and groovin’ to the disco beat. Thank you to the staff, volunteers and board for putting it together! We love our older adults and keeping them socially engaged is our goal.

Wow what a great event today! The Health & Technology Resource Fair was today at the Florence Douglas Center. The staff, volunteers and vendors knocked it out of the park today.

The Florence Douglas Center is important to so many people in our community. We offer a full menu of activities and seminars to keep you, your family, your neighbors, your friends - active and socially engaged.

Sharon B - says my husband passed a few years back. I was lost and didn’t know what to do. I started coming to the Florence Douglas Center. Now I look forward to waking up each morning and have something to look forward to and things keep me active. Thank you for all the activities.

Emma D - Wrote in to tells us she was living alone and started getting depressed being at home alone so much. She said once I started coming to the Center and participating in the activities and meeting people I didn’t feel alone and depressed anymore.

Everyday we open the doors at the Florence Douglas Center with a friendly smile, fresh pots of coffee, offer a hot lunch, a chance to meet new friends and to stay active with activities.

Oh what a night! Sold Out Luau Dinner at the Center! ULOV Ukulele Lovers Of Vallejo

So exciting our second cookie decorating class is Saturday, August 19, 10 am- 11:30 am at Florence Douglas Center in Vallejo. We have a couple of spots available if you would like to come and make this adorable Hawaiian 🌺 set. Everything is supplied and you will leave with 5 decorated sugar cookies!! Cost - $45 for members of FDC $55 to non-members. DM us by 5pm Friday, August 18 if you want to sign up.

Through a Partnership with AT&T, 25 participants of the Center received a dell laptop. Each person had hands instruction on getting started today at the Florence Douglas Center.

Thank you to Applebee’s Vallejo Team for Providing a great place for the Florence Douglas Center to host a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser! And a special thanks to all the Volunteers who came out to serve the supporters who purchased tickets and Garrett Toles of Vtown Farms for supporting the Center.

The Center is buzzing with Good Vibes today! Supervisor Hannigan’s Office Hours, the Pop-up Resource Fair, and Solano/Contra Costa Food Bank Senior Food program today. Crafters too!
