On this day November 20, 2023 Please say a little prayer for those transgender lives that were lost this year...425 gone, but never forgotten.
Thank you...
In 2014, we took the extraordinary step to embody the inclusivity of the q***r movement by changing our name from the National Gay and Le***an Task Force to the National LGBTQ Task Force.
Despite the fact that trans activists played monumental roles in our community’s biggest battles, too often, the q***r movement ignores the voices of trans and nonbinary folks. Especially now, when trans rights are under attack, uplifting trans stories and fighting for trans liberation must be at the forefront of our movement.
As then Executive Director, Rea Carey said, "Now more than ever we have the power to define the future we want; a world where every LGBTQ person can be themselves without any barriers."
🟣 Be sure to follow us on social to learn more about pivotal moments from the movement, Task Force staff, our intersectional advocacy work, & our vision for the next 50 years of activism and q***r joy.
Rest in Power all of you
