I quilted the waves and circles freehand and tried to make them as random and organic as possible.

Water Lilies art quilt zippered pouch. (Yes, this is where the body parts went.)

The small dragonfly has a 1.5" wingspan. Total width of the pouch is 9.75". The style is raw edge applique using techniques learned from the class. The dragonflies were 3D printed by my husband, . The wings were cut out of using a cricut machine.

As always, I learned a lot from this exercise.

We know it can be tough to finally say goodbye to the kiddos (trust us, we have a lot of incredible parents here at Connecting Threads! 🩷), but is "empty next syndrome" even a thing for quilters? 🤪 You say "what are you going to do with all that extra space?", we say "fill it with fabric and a new long arm machine!"
Did you keep your kids rooms the way they were after they flew to coop? Or did you decide to move in your sewing supplies the moment they skipped off into adulthood? 🤔

Recently I took a class with my very talented friend .hay2019 taught by . This is Susanne’s quilt top that she had me quilt for her. I’m super thrilled with how great this looks quilted with a simple E2E!!!! This design, “Hippy” by was the perfect choice!!! The thread I used is So Fine 512. It is a soft neutral that resembles one of the neutral solid fabrics in the quilt top. It is great for letting the texture and design of the top take center stage! |

I loved working on this quilt!! This was all free motion quilted on my Handi Quilter Amara. I used two layers of Quilters Dream batting. Thread was MicroQuilter by Superior Threads.

I'm so not over this quilt!!!
I made this one for ME and it's on my bed (and they all get booped every time my kid comes in the room)

The top is all (I have a full list of colours a few places - I colour matched each of the SKZoos)
Each block was designed in Quilt Assistant and I pieced them all on my Juki
The backing is Cassettes by with a phrase each of the Kids has said either at a fan meet or concert during their thank yous.
That alphabet pattern is by
I used gold & black Starry from for the binding 🌟

The pantograph is called Valentine's Grid and I stitched it out with light blue thread ( has my absolute favorite variegated thread ever)
I love that my two favorite menaces have hearts in their eyes 😍
Chan and Han have heart cheeks too and it just brings me so much joy.

I know I've said all this AND shown it off a few times already, but now it has an official spot on the feed!!

I longarmed this gorgeous Log Cabin quilt that my mother stitched 107x107. I love a Log Cabin quilt - they look complicated, but there are no seams to line up, so it's a forgiving design.

Fun facts.....
👉🏻A red center square was thought to symbolize the hearth of the home.

👉🏻Quiltmakers have been sewing Log Cabin quilts since the mid-19th century and today it remains one of the most popular quilt patterns to make.

Moooove out of the way, gorgeous quilt coming through!

I'll never get tired of longarming quilts. The magic of watching three separate pieces become a whole is so satisfying to me, and the end result is always the sum of it's three parts. And, yes, even years and hundreds of quilts later, sometimes I get a challenge that I get to tackle and learn from. It keeps me on my toes!

This quilt was not a challenge- it quilted out beautifully and I was so, SO pleased with how it turned out. It's a gift for a lovely recipient who raises heifers and who loves the color navy blue, so it's *perfect* for her. She's going to go head over hooves for it!

I forgot to take a picture of the backing for this one, but it was a beautiful navy wide back from Art Gallery.

Great find at today! I have seen lots of other enamel canisters, but not this shape which is perfect to hold my most commonly used colors of Pima. I am going to give her a good cleaning tonight and load her up!
