Building Healthy Smiles recently held its first oral health screening event for the 2024-25 school year. Nearly 100 kindergarten and 3rd grade students at Sierra Linda Elementary School in Oxnard received an oral health screening and 33 students received a fluoride varnish application. Thank you to Dr. Matthew Mokhtarzadeh with Children’s Dental FunZone and Olga Robles, RDAEF with Sugarbug Dental for volunteering their time to screen the Sierra Linda students. A special thank you to our partner Ventura County Public Health for providing oral health education to the kindergarten and 3rd grade classes. We appreciate all their support in our efforts to eliminate dental disease and improve oral health in Ventura County.
