There have been accusations the last few days here on FB that incriminate City of Venus employees related to misconduct. One thing we, as the VPA, want to say is that our members do not know who "Timothy Jackson" is and none of our members have spoken to that person. Therefore, whatever "accusations" this person is making have nothing to do with the Venus Police Association or its members.

Today, our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of one Austin Police Officer and pray for the swift recovery of another injured in the line of duty. Their bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with their families and the entire law enforcement community.

1 police officer killed, 1 injured in South Austin shooting; 2 civilians and suspect also dead The situation apparently started with a disturbance and possible hostage situation inside a home on Bernoulli Drive.

We are thrilled to announce that there will be another complimentary Narcan training session taking place on October 24th starting at 6:00 PM at the Venus Civic Center! Venus Police Officers will be providing instruction to the community on the administration of Narcan, a medication used to reverse the effects of opioids. Furthermore, they will be raising awareness about the dangers of Fentanyl poisoning. This event is open to all individuals and is completely free of charge. Learn how to save lives with Narcan.

Prevent Fentanyl Poisoning Get the facts on fentanyl

Good News: In April of 2023, there were several Vehicle Burglaries reported to VPD, mostly in Patriot Estates. After a ton of follow up by VPD officers, we want to let the public know that arrests have been made for various charges on three out of the four suspects. The fourth suspect has been identified and warrants are listed on the computer for them. They are not local to this area, and we are working with agencies in the area frequented by the last suspect to locate them.

Bad News: Recently we have had some more Vehicle Burglary offenses reported to VPD. The reports we have received were for burglaries that happened the night of 08/15 to the morning on 08/16 in the Meadow Ridge area and downtown area. We currently do not have any suspect information or more specific time information.

We are requesting that the public check their cameras during this time period, more than likely late at night or early in the morning, for suspicious activity. The easiest way to get surveillance video to us is to email [email protected] and we can send you a link to directly drop it to us.
