is looking for a student who needs a summer job and would like to learn about the agency. We need help delivering meals to seniors who have significant difficulty getting and preparing their own food. Must be 18 with valid DL, vehicle and insurance. Will also need to pass a background check.

Houston County Council on Aging Meals on Wheels needs your help with our fan Drive!!!! It is already scorching hot in Houston County! This year we have more fan requests than ever before. In many cases, the seniors we feed either don’t have air conditioning or can’t afford the power to run it. We still need 107 box fans! The fans cost about $21 at Walmart. We are now accepting box fans and donations to purchase box fans. Please bring fans or donations to our Warner Robins location at 129 South Houston Rd (Trinity United Methodist Church) Christian learning Center room 106, between the hours of 7:00AM and 2:00PM. Mail donations to P.O. Box 118, Warner Robins Ga, 31099, or visit our website at www.hocomow.org. To use a credit card. Houston County Council on Aging is accepting competive proposals to provide meals to seniors and persons with disabilities in our home delivered meal program. Meals will include hot, frozen, and shelf stable meals. Vendors must adhere to all federal and state guidelines pertaining to meal nutrition and food service. Services will begin on July 1, 2024, and end on June 30, 2025. Request for proposal packets are available by contacting [email protected] or by calling 478-328-6070. Proposals must be submitted no latter than June 14, 2024 at 5p.m. to [email protected] or by mail to P.0. Box 118 Warner Robins, GA 31099.

Yesterday, We had the most successful Meals on Wheels Golf Tournament in Agency History. The Volunteers seated behind the registration table include Cameron Trotter, Aiden Paul, and Daniel Collaso from RAFB. These gentlemen were awesome. They helped with registration, they ran down golf handicaps we needed, they supervised the $10,000 hole-in-one competition and anything else they were asked to do. The lady you see seated on the left is One of Meals on Wheels greatest supporters. Nancy Kwiatkowski is a former Board Member extraordinaire, she is one of our best donors and she has been involved in the tournament since its inception. The lady on the right Is Francis Bedsole. Francis has has been directly involved in the tournament for all but two of its 25 years. For most of those years, she headed up the Volunteer effort from top to bottom. What a stellar registration table! Thanks to everyone who helped with this wonderful event for this wonderful cause. Thanks Board Treasurer and Tournament Committee Chairman Charles Parker. Charles is the best treasurer I know. He has provided leadership for the tournament since the agency has taken charge of its management.
Under his tutelage the last four years, the tournament has steadily improved to a 25 year, all-time best. Committee members Steve Kipper (also Board Member), Jim Horer, Stan Caudil, Brian Kendal, Donald Sosabee and Bryan Klinger did a great job on bringing in sponsors and golfers as well as managing operations on tournament day. Special thanks to Bryan Kendall for donating the Beautiful Georgia Bulldog Rocking chair he made for us to raffle. I am pretty sure most of the Southern Landings Men's Golf Association participated in the tournament. Also thanks to all of our sponsors and golfers including but not limited too: Gold Sponsors: Charles Parker and Robins Financial Credit Union. what a great way to help someone less fortunate than yourself! Houston County Council on Aging Meals on Wheels needs volunteer drivers at our Warner Robins and Perry locations!!! Delivering meals is a very rewarding experience! In many cases our volunteer may be the only person the meal recipient sees over the course of several days! Our volunteers not only provide a nutritious meal, they provide caring human contact! It takes about an hour and a half to deliver (Monday-Friday). We will take you one day per week or several days per week or month.
