THE 4 HOME BUILD (PERRY) UPDATE: August 16th

What's going on with the Perry Home? ... A lot! We have the home framed, roofed and sided. All the windows and doors are installed. Now we are focusing on the inside of the home.

The Tennyson Family is getting excited because it won't be long and their home will be complete! This family has been so patient throughout the process and we are excited for them to have their very own home!

We are so thankful for our community partners that help make this all possible. HOUSTON COUNTY ... LET'S BUILD TOGETHER!!!

We want to thank everyone who came to the Topps Family’s home dedication this evening. So many people put work into making this house a home again for Laverne and her daughter and they are very grateful. If you’ve been following this journey, this is the first rehab house we had ever done. This home was deemed unlivable but with hard work and volunteers, we were able to get the Topps family their home back. We dedicate this home to Mr. Michael Topps who passed in January 2024 and never got to see this project completed. We hope that Laverne and her daughter have many happy years here. 💚💙

Today, some of our Habitat staff was given a tour of Pulled From Wreckage Ranch & Rescue, a 501c3 non-profit in Elko Georgia that rescues, fosters and raises farm animals. The owner of the rescue, Ms. Charlotte McGee, sells tickets on the page for Saturday events she calls, “Coffee with Chickens” in which all proceeds go to maintaining the farm. Her dream is to be able to provide homeless veterans with a place to call home and teach them how to start their own ranch. They have also offered to volunteer with Habitat on our Saturday build days. The farm is located at 2977 US-41 Elko GA.
