Houston County Emergency Management and Houston County Sheriffs Office are looking for Janice Stalnaker. She is 77 years old and was last seen walking near Highway 41 and Sandefur Rd in Perry.

Ms. Stalnaker is 5'2" tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing grey sweatpants, turquoise jacket, and black shoes.

Ms. Stalnaker is considered "Missing/Endangered"

The vehicle has been located and an arrest has been made!

On 10/20/2023, a burglary occurred at 631 Highway 96 where several personal documents and a large amount of money were taken. A vehicle was spotted on a camera, however, there was no additional footage. If anyone has information regarding this vehicle or the incident, please contact Cpl. Chris Ross. (478) 542-2085.

A test of the emergency broadcast system and emergency alert system is scheduled for October 4, 2023, at 2:20 p.m. This test is conducted every 3 years and has been ongoing since its creation by Congress. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, with the Federal Communications, is conducting the test across the nation. The test will be displayed in either English or Spanish depending on the language settings of the wireless device. The test will also be sent to radios and televisions.

The 12th annual Operation Arresting Hunger car wash 🫧🚗🫧 will be September 23rd at 10am to 130pm at Camp Bow Wow 🐶located at 925 Lake Joy Road.

The Food Dude and Sunset Slush of Middle GA will be there with refreshments as well as DjMixmaster T playing your favorite music.

All proceeds go towards providing Thanksgiving meals to less fortunate families and Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in out community.

When answered, there appears to be no one on the line. Please note to verify a call from Houston County 911, you may call 478-542-9911 to see if someone from 911 is actually attempting to contact you. At no time would anyone from Houston County 911 be calling you to request security information, identification information, or money.

Lieutenant Matt Moulton was recognized by the Georgia Narcotics Officers Association as their recipient for the Joseph Whitehead, Jr. Award for 2023 at the Georgia Narcotics Officers Association Summer Conference. Deputy Joe Whitehead was a Narcotics Investigator for the Bibb County Sheriff's Office who was shot and killed while serving a narcotics search warrant on March 23, 2006 in Bibb County. Lt. Moulton and Deputy Whitehead were friends and worked together on several narcotics cases. Deputy Whitehead was a mentor and hero to Lt. Moulton and many others and served Bibb County with honor and courage. Houston County District Attorney’s Office, Macon Regional Crimestoppers, and Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
