Happy Thanksgiving from National PTA 🍁
On this special day of gratitude, we extend our warmest wishes to all families, educators, and advocates across the nation.
As your homes are filled with laughter, joy, and the comforting embrace of loved ones, let's take a moment to reflect on the blessings that surround us and express our appreciation for the incredible school communities that make a positive impact on the lives of children every day. Let's also remember those who may be facing challenges and lend a helping hand where we can. Together, we can create a more inclusive and compassionate world for every child.
On behalf of our whole team, we wish you a very happy thanksgiving 🦃
Amanda carlow-president elect
She is currently the pta president for Tiogue Elementary. She has a daughter in the fifth grade. She has learned so much as a local leader, joining the state level to help other groups, is the whole reason she signed on. She is excited to help and do whatever she can for Rhode Island PTA.
Madison Estes, Acting President
Madison has been involved with state and national PTA for over 10 years. She joined the Massachusetts PTA board as the student representative in 2013 and has continued to be involved ever since. She has served as treasurer, president-elect and president from 2020-2022. She has also served on the National PTA Youth Committee and currently the Programs Committee. For work, she teaches high school business courses and bartends part-time. She will also be getting married next summer!
Madison was happy to lend a helping hand when the national PTA president asked her to step up and assist Rhode Island PTA during the transition. She is excited to see the new board take over and help grow the mission of PTA.
Up next, we introduce:
Ryan Switzer, VP of membership
He is currently serving as the VP on the Tiogue Elementary School PTA. He joined the RI State PTA board because he wanted to keep the state board in the hands of local RI residents. He is 50 years old, has two boys, one in the 2nd grade and one in the 1st grade, he is married, and they have two dogs. He looks forward to helping RI in any way he can as the Vice President of Memberships.
