The Ad Astra today was out of this world! π We learned about the CEO and former astronaut, Dr. Franklin Chang DΓaz whose mission is to address space transportation challenges. Their focus on using renewable fuels like nitrogen and hydrogen instead of fossil fuels blew our minds! Ad Astra isn't just about rockets; they're into eco-friendly rides too, like hydrogen-powered cars and buses. Traveling sustainably for a cleaner future! π
Our last day in Costa Rica began with beach yoga, a refreshing start! We tried standing poses like mountain, star, warrior, and triangle, focusing on breathing and centering ourselves. It was a new experience for most of us, and we loved it! πͺ Then off to Liberia City for a historic tour. From Spanish conquests to stunning architecture, it's been an eye-opening day! ποΈ
Last night's dinner was extra special as we got to dine with three different Costa Rican families! We shared laughs, enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals, and practiced our Spanish. It's such a wholesome experience! π‘π΄
Yesterday was an ocean adventure like no other! π We joined the Rocket Frog Divers at Papagayo Peninsula to explore marine life and master snorkeling. Our guide showed us fish, sea urchins, and eels, plus a cave formed by nature's artistry. From eels to coral, we saw it all underwater! π¦ Witnessing the ocean's biodiversity was eye-opening, reminding us of the importance of Sustainable Goal #14: Life Below Water. π

Day 6: From cocoa pods to delicious chocolate! π± We dove into the world of chocolate-making, learning about different cocoa pods and the intricate processes involved. Who knew the journey from seed to chocolate could be so sweet and sour, just like our adventure! π
πΏ Exploring Tenorio Volcano National Park in Costa Rica! π¨π· We hiked through trails that protect the diverse plants and species. This park is all about sustainable goals, focusing on preserving ecosystems and biodiversity. π Follow along for more eco-adventures!

Day 5 brought us high-flying adventures on the Congo Trail! π± Some were fearless, like Lauren leading the pack on the zip lines. Then back at Villa de Sueno, where we enjoyed pizza and got artsy painting our favorite moments. π¨ Follow along to join the fun!
We explored the Miravalles volcanoes today! These mighty forces fuel 15% of Costa Rica's energy needs and play a crucial role in climate regulation. π From the crater's natural wonders like water and mud clay to the sauna powered by volcanic steam, we witnessed firsthand how these elements contribute to energy production.

We toured a power plant near the Miravalles Volcano, where 100% renewable energy is created using steam from the volcano. This sustainable approach helps combat climate change and preserve our planet. Did you know Costa Rica leads the way in renewable energy? With abundant geothermal and hydroelectric resources, along with wind turbines, the country is paving the path to a greener future. ππΏ

Day 4 was all about delicious eats and soothing treats! π We tried the Casado meal near Miravalles volcano, then dipped into the rejuvenating hot springs for some mud fun and sauna chill. Pure bliss! π¦ Follow us for more exciting adventure!
Day 3 was a blast! π We observed the mesmerizing art of pottery-making, learning from Mr. Willi himself. Then, we hit the dance floor with Senor Fernando to master the Bachata and Salsa. What an unforgettable day of culture and fun! ππ½πΊπ½
Day 2 in Costa Rica was packed with adventure! π« We embarked on a sightseeing tour, exploring iconic landmarks like the national stadium, cathedral, and hospital San Juan de Dios. Then, we dove into history at the Museo Nacional de Costa Rica and much more! Follow along for more exciting updates on our journey!

TMA students welcomed a new day with peaceful yoga on the sandy shores of the Caribbean. Energized and ready to explore, we embarked on a journey to Cahuita National Park, where we immersed ourselves in the lush rainforest and took a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters of the ocean. Later that afternoon, we traveled to the vibrant city of Limon, where we explored the town's colorful streets and indulged in the lively culture. Our adventure continued with an interactive tour at the Chocolate Adventure Company, where we delved into the history of chocolate-making and indulged in delicious treats. This day filled us with new experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
Puerto Viejo welcomed us with open arms as we embarked on a day full of rhythm and exploration. In the morning, we immersed ourselves in the lively beats of a Spanish dance class, learning the passionate moves of Latin culture. Afterward, we ventured out to explore the colorful town, taking in the vibrant atmosphere and rich history. A visit to the Marcus Garvey Community Center filled our hearts with inspiration as we learned about the community's efforts to promote education and empowerment. The day culminated in a delightful bonding dinner, where we shared stories and laughter, basking in the warmth of our newfound friendships.
Embarking on a cultural journey, TMA students delved into the heart of the BriBri Indigenous Region. We explored the secrets of cacao farming and indulged in an authentic ceremony, immersing ourselves in the rich history and traditions of the local people. To refresh our spirits, we took a dip in the crystal-clear waters of a nearby waterfall, basking in the tranquility and natural beauty of the region. This day of discovery and adventure will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
As the adventure continues, TMA students experienced a day full of thrills as we soared through the treetops on the zipline course, then immersed ourselves in the lush beauty of the forest with a hike through Brauilio Carrillo National Park. We capped off the day with a journey from the Central Valley to the Caribbean Coast, excited for the adventures that await us there!
