Apothecary style dresser 🤍
This commissioned piece was made for a repeated client who had previously purchased the set of apothecary nightstands and was looking for a matching dresser. With the help of half dowels, glue, a nail gun and epoxy, we carefully outlined every drawer to mimic the nightstands built. Although these two are not fraternal siblings, they found each other through my stubbornness to create a mix and match set 😬. Showcasing gorgeous wood tops, dovetailed drawers, and beautiful carved recycled legs from 2 other different pieces of furniture (yay for repurposing! 🤍), they ended up pairing just fine! 🤌🏻

This old lady has lived around 200 years, and with this very much deserving makeover, she got new solid stone oval hardware, gorgeous white and blue liners, new key holes for those who were missing, polished and gold-buffed key systems, and a brabd new antique key (for decorative purposes only, systems are not working). Sanded top to bottom and inside out, stained and waxed to revive and protect, this piece is perfect as an accent in entryways, hallways, bedrooms, nooks, laundry rooms.. you name it ! 🤍

After what felt like exactly 3 years and 47 days of sanding 🤣 we finally got all the yellow finish out and we were able to see the wood grain in all its glory. The challenge here came with the fact that the shelves are fixed, so no way around that! Per our client request, this pair kept their raw feel by having only a matte coat applied on top. We also made sure the family would have a hidden area to store things by adding custom-built doors 😍 The arched top on these bookcases give these pieces a beautiful and unique accent 🤍 So grateful when we have a repeated client coming back to us for seconds, thirds and more!! 🙏🏻

If you have been here a bit, you know I LOVE working on chinas. Doing this piece was a dream for me, and I cannot believe how everything fell together to make it happen. I searched for months for a china that would meet my inspo piece details (straight legs, beautiful lines, edged doors - pic at the very end of this post) to paint it just like what I have seen on Pinterest. Long story short, I sold it before even being able to scuff sand. What a surprise I got when my client said she wanted it the same green I had in mind and gave me free range to do with it whatever I wanted as long as it was wood + green 😭 .
