Always a special treat getting to spend time with fellow '82 Hoyas Sara (Boudakian) Cegelski and Chuck Walworth, along with Chuck's partner Jud Slusser out here in Southern California. This evening we met in the quaint, charming city of San Juan Capistrano.

Fellow Hoyas:
Looking for your assistance regarding Victor Lee, whose death I posted about recently. His family cannot access his phone or computer to get his contacts, so please spread the word if you know any of his friends or colleagues. I’m re-attaching the obituary in the comments.
His sister confirmed that the cause of death was a sudden stroke, and asked that his passing be a reminder to all of us to embrace life and loved ones, and to let them know how much they mean to us every day.
Victor graduated from the Georgetown School of Business in 1982, and Georgetown Law in 1985. If you or anyone you know has any photos or memories of Victor that you’d like to share with his family, they’re creating a memory album and would welcome your input. If you have anything to offer, please send me a DM and I’ll give you the email address.
Thank you for your help! Here’s Victor’s graduation photo – I knew him later in life, but I always remember him best as being 21!
Note: If you aren't friends with Kris on Facebook, feel free to send any photos by instant message here, or to me on Facebook, or by email to me at [email protected], and I'll forward to Kris. Thanks! G.
Here's a great opportunity to help support one of our classmates, Valli Baldassano, who has been living with MS for over 30 years. This was forwarded to us by a fellow Hoya who has been a part of these MS bike rides for a while now. Please give if you can.
Thanks!
g.
Hi everyone!
In case you didn't know, several Hoyas (Phil Geyer, Ron Sinclair, Jamie Daly, Gene Kelley, Terry Lynch and Karen Malewski Scaduto) have been riding for the past years, some up to 20, in Bike MS events to raise money to fund research to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. We would love your support! If y'all could make a team donation of any size through the link below, it'd be awesome.
We're riding as the Valli Boyz & Galz in honor of fellow Hoya Valli Baldassano (Class of '82) who's been living with MS for over 30 years.

Fellow Class of '82 Hoyas:
You crushed this year's Blue & Gray Day Challenge!!!! We not only unlocked our $20,000 matching gift from classmate John Staples and his husband by soaring past our target goal of 135 donors by 41, to arrive at a class-best 176 donors, but we also won the prestigious Class Participation Award (which we previously won in 2017 and tied for in 2022), which translates into a $50,000 donation in our class name to the Georgetown Endowment Fund. We almost won both class awards, falling just eight donors shy of perennial Class Donors winners the Class of 2001. But we're gonna take them down next year!!!
Outstanding job, everyone!!! Thanks for being so generous and engaged!

Hey Class of '82 Hoyas ....
It's that time of the year again, starting tonight, Tuesday, March 19, at 6:11pm Eastern time ... the Blue & Gray Day Challenge.
We are trying to complete for both of the class challenges, which come with them an enhanced $50K class award for each challenge. So even if you've already given this year, a nominal $5 or $10 donation counts in the challenge.
Here is where you'll be able to give, starting tonight and ending tomorrow night at midnight Eastern: https://blueandgrayday.georgetown.edu/
Always a special treat to connect with fellow Class of '82 Hoyas here in

Happiest of holidays and merriest of Christmases to you all, dear fellow '82 Hoyas!
If you're able, please consider making a donation to the Georgetown Scholars Program over this holiday season. Our class is attempting to raise $2500 to this worthwhile organization whose mission is to work towards a more equitable college experience for first-generation and low-income college students. The Necessity Fund provides GSP students with modest grants to meet unfunded out-of-pocket expenses such as co-pays for student medical care, emergency travel, winter coats, bedding, and other unexpected expenses. As the weather gets colder and students try to return home for the holidays, November and December are crucial months for the GSP Necessity Fund. If you are able to give at this time, we would greatly appreciate any support!

Always a special evening when '82 Hoyas get together. Huge thanks to '82 Hoya Chuck Walworth and his partner Jud Slusser for hosting some of our SoCal Hoyas at their home in Laguna Beach to celebrate the West Coast visit of '82 Hoya Karen Olason Pietrantonio and husband Joe. Such amazing food, guys, and such a lovely home--thank you!
Also in attendance were '82 Hoyas Frank Pond, Christine North, Kris Bernhardt, Leslie Cross Thompson and husband Scott, and Class of '82 co-chair George Biagi and his husband Gilberto.
Special thanks to Karen for surprising us with a shipment of Georgetown Cupcakes! HOYA SAXA!!!

Six '82 SoCal Hoyas (and one devoted partner) got together for an amazing Middle Eastern dinner prepared by Sara Cegelski at the home of Chuck Walworth and his partner Jud Slusser in Laguna Beach last night.
The food was delicious, the conversation stimulating, and the love and friendship shared was food for our souls.
Great to spend time with our hosts, the chef, and Leslie Cross Thompson (who shared the drive up north with me from Solana Beach), and Frank Pond and Christine North (who drove down from LA).
How fortunate we are to have such lasting, vital friendships among our classmates. Hoya Saxa!
Happy Birthday Coach Thompson! We Miss You!

Classmates:
If you are coming to reunion and haven't registered yet, the deadline for online registration is tomorrow (Tuesday, May 24) at 11:59pm Eastern (8:59pm Pacific). After that, you'll only be able to do walk-in registration in Healy starting on Friday, June 3, AND you'll pay walk-in prices for our class parties. Thanks!
Also, it's super important that you remember to upload your proof of vaccination BEFORE the online portal closes tomorrow night at 11:59pm Eastern on the reunion webpage. A newsletter went out last Thursday morning which contains links to the portal for you to be able to do the proof of vaccination, and it also contains all of the information about our Friday and Saturday class parties and our Class of '82 Memorial Mass at 3pm on Saturday in St. William Chapel in Copley Hall, as well as a link to our Class of '82 Top 35 playlist on Spotify that we voted on in an extensive poll conducted for our 25th reunion.
We can't wait to see you in less than two weeks!

Reunion Weekend 2022 - Georgetown University Join us June 3–5, 2022 for reunion!
WE DID IT! We blew our Blue and Gray Day donor goal out of the water (133 donors!) AND we won (along with the Class of '95) the Class Challenge Prize for Participation (the highest percentage of class members who have given during this fiscal year).
Additionally, because we topped last year's number of donors (121), we unlocked a $20,000 matching gift generously donated by classmate John Staples and his husband Scott. This money, along with our share of the participation prize, will go into our Class of '82 Endowed Scholarship Fund.
Three cheers to all of the classmates who donated during the challenge and during this fiscal year, and our heartfelt gratitude to the Class Ambassadors who assisted us with outreach during the challenge and special thanks to the classmates who stayed up with us those final six hours of the challenge and helped us text, phone, private message and email classmates urging them to give. They literally helped will this class prize into fruition--it came down to the final donors we were able to reach in the final 15 minutes of the challenge. This was a true team effort!
Hoya Saxa, Class of '82! We can't wait to see you at reunion!

Awesome Class of '82 Hoyas!
We have just over three hours remaining in this year's Blue & Gray Day Challenge, and we are doing an amazing job (currently in third place out of all classes with 95 donations given thus far).
We need 27 more donations in the next three hours (by midnight tonight Eastern, Wednesday, 3/23) to unlock a $20,000 matching gift generously put up by classmate John Staples and his husband Scott.
IF you haven't made your reunion year gift yet, this is the perfect opportunity to do so. And if you've already given this year--THANK YOU!--and please consider making a second, nominal gift of at least $5 to go toward the challenge goal.
Let's continue to slay this!

Blue and Gray Day | Georgetown University Welcome to Blue and Gray Day—1,789 minutes of friendly competition and camaraderie to make a difference for Georgetown!
Greetings You Awesome Class of '82 Hoyas!
It's that time of the year again when the Class of '82 turns in another Top 5 finish among ALL classes during Blue & Gray Day. Please mark down the dates and time of the challenge and give if you can, and share the word with your fellow classmates.
This is our 40th Reunion Year, so if you're planning on making a reunion year gift, please do so during the 1789 minutes of the challenge. If you've already given, please consider making an additional, participatory gift (as little as $10) to help with our participation goal of this challenge.
We are thrilled and honored to once again have a $20,000 matching gift from classmate John Staples and his husband Scott. If we hit a new high-level mark of 122 donors (one more than last year's 121) during the challenge--we'll unlock this gift, which will go toward the Class of '82 Endowed Scholarship (which is also a great place for each of us to earmark our reunion and Blue & Gray Day gifts!)
And we'd be remiss if we didn't mention how excited we are to see you at reunion on the Hilltop June 3-5. Early-bird registration for our amazing Friday and Saturday night class events is open. Register at https://reunion.georgetown.edu/
