“IF YOU SEE ONLY ONE PLAY during the six-month-long Shakespeare In Washington Festival SEE ROUGH MAGIC… the play itself proves an inspired choice for an impoverished but balls- to-the-wall theater company.”
– Washington City Paper
Caliban has escaped from Prospero’s island after being imprisoned for 500 years. On the run from his sadistic and powerful master, he finds himself in modern-day New York where he joins forces with a dramaturg with magical powers and a love-struck lifeguard who might be the child warrior fated to save the world. Taking his cues from many of today’s most popular comic and graphic novel writers like Neil Gaiman (SANDMAN), Bill Willingham (FABLES) and Warren Ellis (PLANETARY), Aguirre-Sacasa, a writer for Marvel Comics and one of America’s hottest young playwrights, melds a very real New York with Shakespeare’s THE TEMPEST, creating a modern tale of thrills, chills and drag queen furies.
Have a Rorschach story? We're collecting memories, magic moments and urban legends from across Rorschach's 25 year history. We'll put them all on display at the Bash on June 1st.

There’s no place like Rorschach. 💖🍩
No matter how talented your cast, how sharp your script, how clever your director or how beautiful your design NOTHING happens in live theatre without a top notch Stage Management team. Sophia, Natasha, Makayla, Ainsley & Nukie make everything happen smoothly and we are so happy to have them. To be honest though…Nukie’s not really as busy as the rest of the team, but what he lacks in productivity he makes up for in cuteness and enthusiasm. Pretty good for a stuffed bear. ❤️❤️ 🐻 ❤️❤️
HUMAN MUSEUM is Helen Hayes Awards Recommended. Congrats to the cast and creative team! Just two weekends left to catch it before it’s gone May 5th.

65: So how can you still see beauty in this?
237: That’s my programming. Despite all their flaws, I still wish I could’ve met them.
